Beijing Ducks and Guangdong Tigers also sent their scouts to watch Curry but alas he never declared for CBA Draft.

Are you sure?

Steve Kerr himself said that he thought Suns had a deal in place for Steph Curry and they then choose Earl Clark with the 14th pick instead of Jrue Holiday in that draft. He was high on Steph and Jrue and missed on both thanks to old Nellie who couldn`t keep his word.

Yes, I'm sure. This is straight from both the GM at the time, and the coach at the time, who were both involved in the trade. They both did not expect Curry to be available. When he was the deal was off. There was no way that trade was ever resulting in Curry going to the Suns.

I've also never seen any evidence anyone broke a promise. Provisional deals during the draft are not rare.

FWIW, the T-wolves skipped him twice...
