Rondo=Cancer

It was cute and funny when we dealt with this from LeBron's step daddy Delonte but I expected better from Rondo.

Now I feel that Rondo is struggling because he will not do what coach is asking him to do. Rondo is probably upset because he can't pad his stats here and is quickly losing value in his contract season. In my opinion it needs to be coach's way or the highway. It's becoming clear why we got a "top" point guard for almost nothing.

No reason to panic, let's just wait and see how this develops. Good decision to suspend him, you can't have players disrespect coach like that.

According to Tim Mcmahon they had another altercation in the locker room after the game, why couldn't this happen a week ago, we could have shipped his sorry ass out of here, hopefully he leaves this summer, his name recognition is a lot bigger than his talent

It sure would have been nice to flip Rondo for something of value before the deadline. Boston isnt stupid at all. They Lamar Odomed us.

Hey, I've been lurking for years but decided it was time to register and post with all this Rondo hate going on..

Guy needs to be disciplined like this in order for the team to move forward. I'm from AU and this stuff happens all the time in the AFL. Thing is, there is no way for the team to move forward without an altercation like this happening - it needed to come to a head.

If you think Dallas is a better team without Rondo at PG, you are a bit lost. He has improved our defense dramatically, players are spaced on the floor better than ever before. He brings so much more to the team, and I know that you know that too.

Chasing Rondo out of Dallas is not the solution. If he has matured like he says he has, he will come back from this a better played. He can't simply expect to own the team after playing for what, 20 odd games?

I say give this time, and see how we go in the Playoffs. It's likely Rondo will resign. He doesn't have many other contending options.

I was just listening to ESPN Dallas radio and they had Coop interview Rick before the game and he said:"This incident was due to poor communication between he and I and we have to spend more time together and communicate better. He's a quarterback of our team and he'll be handling the playmaking duties."

Rick just said it's a two-way street. I feel okay about all of this.

I came late for JET on ESPNA Radio Dallas, did anyone listen? What did he say about this incident?

I'm searching for it myself but I can't find it. It's weird to me that KESN FM doesn't have audio archives of their shows online when almost all the other radio stations do...

Yeah, I just checked up with one of the guys from the show and he said they don't podcast pregame interviews. But I'm not crazy, I'm sure he said either "He'll be handling playmaking duties" or "He'll be calling plays". 100% :-?

If that's the case, then they should be alright. I really don't want this to turn into an Odom type of situation.

This is a blessing in disguise. Makes the Mavs less likely to re-sign Rondo 'just because'... and it happens with still time to amend things. I still hope that this fires Rondo up... he plays so scared.

Anyone could tell how awkward it feels seeing Rondo to dribble up the court and then just hand it to Ellis and then go hide in a corner. At the same time, when he has the ball and can do 'his thing', he drives it and then instead of being aggressive makes some terrible turnovers - just like the one that got him to the bench - you could see the Carlisle's disgust on TV. He's always trying difficult passes due to probably being afraid of contact. It seems his layups have always an extreme high of difficulty because of that. He actually had a nice game against the Hornets, so it sucked to again see him struggle against the Raps.

Harris comes in and all of a sudden, you're seeing lobs and dunks, open looks and rhythm. At this stage, it's hard to envision him ever really working with Ellis - we've seen the worst side of Ellis game lately with his long range shots. So in a way, glad that the drama happens right away and enables the franchise to more easily move on if it doesn't work "that well", as opposed to before where it seemed that he was a lock to be re-signed. Unless he truly is a headcase, his only option is working extra hard to make this work.

"I just got built-up frustration," said Rondo, who has had a couple of long individual meetings with Carlisle since their blowup. "I take a lot of the blame for what I've been doing on the court, but just a little frustrated. The most important thing is communication with Coach. I've talked to a lot of the coaches, I've talked to a lot of staff members.

"Coach and I, when I first got here, we were talking a lot and watching film after every game. He's backed off a little bit with the addition of Amar'e, trying to help get him up to speed. Our communication was great at first. Not that it wasn't so great, but it's just that we weren't communicating enough. That shouldn't be the case the rest of the season."

"I've been in this situation before," Rondo said, chuckling. "Everyone's personality is different. The personality and the DNA is different.

"I don't think this is a problem at all. We lost a game, which hurt us seeding-wise, but we have to continue to move forward."

Rondo is saying all the right things, and it sounds like he realizes he was at fault. He's saying exactly the kinds of things that would make me feel better about his temper tantrum.

But I don't know Rondo's personality all that well. Maybe he's sincere, or maybe he's just really good at PR and damage control.

I'm a little skeptical about Rondo and his sincerity. It's a contract year and I'm sure it's clear to him a feud with coach would cost him millions of dollars with his next contract. I hope I'm wrong but I'm not optimistic .

After that game - maybe they need to have another one.

Rondo's a smart kid and I don't think he's ready to give up on us just yet.

Laker fan in peace... I have liked Rondo for years and appear to be in the minority on our board but I thought his numbers would be better with all your shooters... I know Monte is ball dominate & it is tough to join a team mid season but I thought he would have a bigger impact... Good luck in playoffs...
