I think Dragic stays in Miami, but this is similar to my dream line up. If we get a top 2 pick look out  .

your going to be left out in the cold in FA if you think Wes is only getting 10 mill per.

That doesn't mean he'll be worth that contract.

dawww, thats such an adorable sentiment

Trade: Our first rounder (#2) to Philly for Embiid and their first (say #6).

Sign: Wes Matthews (13.5 per year); Rajon Rondo (11.5 per year); Jason Smith (mmle); Lou Amundson (vet min)

Draft: Willie Cauley-Stein (backup plan Frank Kaminsky)

Lineup:

Rondo/Galloway
Matthews/Calderon/THj
Melo/Early
Amundson/Cauley-Stein
Embiid/Smith

Obviously Amundson starting sticks out. But the reality is we would split the 2 big man minutes btw all 4 bigs. Ideally WCS (or Kaminsky) would develop to the point where they become the starting 4, but until then I think Amundson can do the dirty work with that starting lineup.

Thoughts??

13.5M for Wes ? A guy who had his first 30 pts game in 3 years yesterday. Nah, no more than 10 for him.

First off, it's not all about 30 point games. Wes is a really strong defender. Great two way guard, who, as you noted for us, can score the ball also.

Second, there is no way he goes for 10 mil a year on the open market. It would be nice if he did- it would make my mock offseason even easier bc we would have more money to play with. But I think the reality is, if we want to land some really good players we are going to have to spend.

If we're not willing to go 13 on matthews we might as well wipe our *** with our cap room this summer.

Can someone tell me the obsession with Towns? Ive watched him play and honestly hes a long term project at best. If we dont get the one pick i dont understand how we would pick anyone other than Deangelo Russell.

I think we all love D.Russell but don't forget who our GM/President is and the system he has us running which values a big man more than it values the PG and i think that's the biggest reason why most think we'll go with a big if OK4 or Towns are there when we pick.

Why do so many people want rondo

I actually use to really lime him but he has not looked good on the mavs and would rather do his own thing on the court then the coaches and he can't shoot for ****

Dream Lineup for next year

PG Reggie Jackson -12 million

PF Paul Millsap - 12 million
C Karl Towns -3 million

Idk if the cap will go up but with this lineup we'll be pretty close

OK lets not forget the bench. Once we get Okafor and say Milsap or D green. we need solid back ups with energy say 15 minutes a night. In my humble opinion Amudson and a journey guy with serious rebounding and defence should back up Okafor. Now if Phil can get any 2 of the ff JaMychal Green', James Michael Macadoo or Copeland to back say Milsap and Melo. They all free agents next year.

Pg Galloway
SG:Mathews or Afflalo
SF:Carmelo Anthony
PF Paul Millsap or D. GreenI
C:Okafor

back ups:
Pg:Find a West Brooke type in the 2nd rd of the Draft and a veteran for cheap. Use the stretch provision for Calderon
SG:Hardaway and the Greek freak
C Amudson for sure but with Smith or Wear you pick one. Smith and wear are redundant
PF:You get James Macadoo or J. Green the d league guy who sign for Grizzlies and u keep Thomas open spot for a banger
SF:Bargs or Copeland to back Melo or both and Early If u can get Cope leave the spot for a veteran with a nice stroke

I don't think Early cracks the rotation next year.
