Road to the play-offs

Post#1 » by EuroPacer » Mon Feb 23, 2015 5:13 pm

After yesterdays win over a Curry less GSW (despite Curry being missing it was still a great result!) we are now 2 games behind the 8th spot. Effectively there are five teams duking it out for two spots (7th and 8th). The competition for this tail-end of the play-offs is becoming rather exciting. The Hornets have started to tail off, but have two games in hand, we are equal to the Pistons who we will play one more game, the Heat have just lost Bosh (despite getting in Dragic that is bound to hurt their chances) the Nets gave away Garnett and to me look unconvincing.

We have hit good form around the turn of the year and it seems to me that we are the team that is setting the pace at the moment together with the Pistons. Of course that makes it difficult - we are both in the same division, we will meet only one more time, but Central is arguably the hardest in the East (In fact, it is by far!) so there is plenty of scope for the Hornets and the Nets to pick up games.

A lot will now depend on how the Heat cope without Bosh and whether we can take the two remaining games against the Nets and the other direct competitors. I didn't think it would be, but things are in fact getting exciting! (I will always fancy the Pacers in the play-offs)
Vogel is Dutch for Bird.

Road to the play-offs

With Bosh missing and Wade still being somewhat injury-prone, it's very possible that Miami missed the post season. And I think Detroit has figured things out. So we could be looking at all 5 Central teams in the playoffs. Has that ever happened since the switch to 3 divisions per conference?

Well if we make the playoffs, hopefully we can get the 7th seed because I feel like we matchup with the Raptors then the Hawks, that is if the Raptors hang on to the 2nd seed since I think there is a good chance Cavs could come in and get the 2nd seed but you never know. Also, if George can be ready to play by April , we can be a very dangerous 7th seed and you never know. See what happens, but the schedule really favors us in March, a ton of home games.

I think if PG actually comes back and can work his way somewhat back into what he was pre-injury then we are in the playoffs with a chance to make some noise. Now, idk if PG can come back this soon and have our team mesh but just look how our team has been playing. Just the thought of PG coming back has given this team a boost. If we get into the playoffs I for one would say I like our team now better then last years when we were all hoping for a championship run. IMO stuckey+miles+improved S hill is a lot better then just lance stephenson. There is still a chance of everything really coming together this year.

We just need G Hill to not defer too much or lose his edge when PG comes back

I think at first PG will get Damo's minutes.

Yeah I hope that doesn't throw him off. I don't see us slipping into the playoffs...there's a chance, odds aren't in our favor IMO. PG might have to be brought in slowly.

No Lebron tonight. We'll see what Love/JR/Mozzy can do against us.

Franks gotta do something to get the team going in the first. To many times we fall behind big or just give up a ridiculous amount of points
