Game 59: Cavs vs. Warriors 8:00 EST, TNT FSO

Post#1 » by King Stannis » Thu Feb 26, 2015 9:36 am

In what may figure to be a preview of the NBA Finals, the hottest team in the NBA since January 15th hosts the league's best record as the Cavs battle the Golden State Warriors in Quicken Loans Arena. A LeBronless Cavalier team fell to the Warriors 112-94 back on January 9th. The Cavs look to make a statement and even the regular season series.

Carried by TNT and Fox Sports O-H-I-O.

Keys to the Game:

1. DEFENSE.
2. Moving the ball on offense.
3. DEFENSE.
4. Everyone playing with energy and bringing their A-game.
5. DEFENSE.
Bend the knee.

I think the biggest key to the game ( and the main reason we lost last time) is limiting turnovers. Warriors force a lot of turnovers and score from well from them.

Lebron is a turnover machine atm. He is about the worst in the league in this area and has had no regard for protecting the ball. This needs to change.

well.....you just put the focus on the place where the Warriors are WAY ahead. LeBron...can do defense..hell.. Lebron could walk across lake Eire if he was in the mood. K Love.. is good at some stuff..unless the stuff is defense..he sucks at that. Kyrie and Curry will score.. i doubt either can much D the other. Smith defending Klay... yeah... fat chance.

Yeah...I'm a GSW guy.. but I'm in OHIO now so...I relate to LeBron getting back to his roots. The Cavs can count on ther OFFENSE... not their D. The edge might be HOME. GSW is good on the road but---best at home.

Whatever. This game should be a big ass cool one. If we don't win..I hope you do. :D

Geez we cant even get a page of game thread for this game.

Anyway best win of the season, obviously. Tough intense contest. Turned up the defense in the second half again and responded well to curry dominating the first, lee too. The defensive effort by everyone is very pleasing though. Still, they'll be a very hard team to beat in the post season, so fricken deep.

Noticed smitch isnt shooting much anymore. To a fault almost, he's giving up wide open threes. Hopefully kyries shoulder is ok/

The key yesterday was LBJ and guarding him. I was surprised that Kerr did not try a big lineup with Bogut, Lee and Green on the floor at the same time. Green on LBJ. Iggy is solid but he could not slow down (forget stop) Bron.

Love jumping out on Curry was nice to see too. Shump was solid on dee. Moz with the double double. TT played well at the end.

I think the only hole I saw was Lee's effort on GS showed our bigs need to step up the defense effort and on the weak side we need more help on the pick and role.

Hope Kyrie's shoulder is okay.

I could see a let down tonight though.

Anyway nice win.

(and someone needed to settle Perkins down. I love the effort but this fouls are turnovers plain and simple. )

I do not want to jinx this but at 53 years old I think there is a realistic chance for a parade in C-town. First time in my memory. WOW!

As I'm sure everyone here knows there is way more Cavs traffic at RealCavsFans.
The game thread there has hit 100 pages.

As always, our defeated opponent is whining about referee calls.

There were some times where curry didn't get some calls but we where the more aggressive team, especially in the second half. Lebron was relentlessly attacking the rim all game.

Simply looking at free throw disparity is stupid anyway. It's like people think it's impossible for one team to be more aggressive and earn more trips to the line than the other team.

To be honest, I thought that Kyrie should have gotten several more calls especially in the first half. And I thought that foul on the 3 pointer was ridiculous.

I don't really remember tbh, Kyrie got to the line a fair bit anyway. The one i noticed on our team was Love, i thought he got hacked a bit.

Oh, that 3 pointer I was referencing was the one that Curry got.

He was being abused.

Yet, you'll never hear him complain, Curry.
