It is Biz after all... the guy has taken some HUGE shots over his short career so far. He could get shot and he'd be listed as a game-time decision.

Or apparently he could get a bruise and be out a month.

What the hell? He's been out over a month. I'm starting to get a bit concerned that he re-bruised his knee while banging the homeless dude

Excellent piece by Bonnell on Biz.

There is not a more likeable player in professional sports than Biz. Glad he's getting back soon.

Really interesting to read about the tension between him and Cliff. Glad he fought his way back.

I still call BS on the energy thing but I am glad Biz takes everything in stride. He is a great person first and foremost and then is really developing as a player. He wants everyone on the team to do well and you can tell when he is out there that he is fine just helping others get shots without his even needing to touch the ball.

How tall is the homeless man? He would have to be 6'3 right? or iz Biz shorter than listed?

“He and I have been talking about this for two years now – he’s got to be a more consistent effort, defense and rebounding player,” Clifford said in November, adding Biyombo’s team defense was somewhere between average and below average.

This still pisses me off. At no point the past 2 years has Bismack's defense been close to below average. If that's average-below average, what is Jefferson's or Neal/Roberts/etc?

Probably talking about his PNR defense, which isn't great.

Clifford is an idiot.

In his head he's the only reason we have had (relative minuscule) success.

Yet it was still light years ahead of Al and Maxiell. Those are the guys who he chose to go with instead because of his "defense".

Not interested in getting into that again.

That's fine but you commented on his defense so it had to be pointed out that it was still better than the other options. That is plain for everyone to see. The only person who did not see it was our coach.

I wasn't comparing, I was saying what I think Cliff was referring to. I don't think Cliff is literally stupid, especially when it comes to coaching defense. I think PNR defense is the weakest part of Biz's game on defense.

That is fine but defending Cliff when he was indefensible is like your thing. He cost us games early this season by playing Max over Biz because of some made up garbage about hustle and defense. He was petty and now has to justify what he did that may cost us the playoffs. His comments are all about covering his butt and stats show they are not correct. Either he can't read stats or he is making stuff up. My guess is covering his butt for his ego causing problems.

Clifford's ego does cause problems, absolutely no doubt about it.

Unless it's Biz' ego...yeah no...

Al is the worst defensive center in the league and hustles less than any other center, not to mention he is probably the softest center in the league. He want get in there and fight for anything. Late in games when it gets more physical down low, he drifts out to 12-15 foot range to avoid contact. Al is horrible, but Cliff threw Biz under the bus. lol

Can't wait to get Biz back. It want happen, but Biz should be the starter. We played our best ball this season with Al on the sideline, and our worst when Biz has been out and when Biz started year not playing. Biz is a difference maker on this team along with MKG.

This is a fantasy basketball related question, but what kind of numbers do you project for Biz down the stretch?

Thanks in advance!

I think at this point Clifford has seen Biyombo succeed enough such that he's going to get consistent minutes except for the odd Maxiell #effort outing. I also think we can assume that all player evaluations come down a combination of both offense and defense, particularly at the top of the rotation. as much as we bang on Clifford for his stubbornness, I don't think he's dumb enough to ignore production as well as talent to put pressure on other teams when deciding his rotation. (and I do think it is stubbornness, not really ego per se, that drives his reluctance to change)

I'd expect him to put up similar minutes and numbers to what he did in early December before Jefferson was hurt. His injury was bad timing because he was on his way to a larger share of minutes.
