Team culture and leadership is formed and perpetuated first by the vet players, then by the coach, unless the coach has an exceptionally strong character an inordinate influence. Jason Kidd is a prime example. Having him in the locker room set the culture for the Knicks to finish on top of the east. Look at what he's done with the bucks. Amazing. Our problem is the vet leadership. The roster that started this year, from sheer talent perspective, was a playoff team. We need to clean house. Even melo needs to go for some high character and energy players.

But Melo isn't going anywhere so why even waste the time to say this? Are you saying that with Melo we can't build a winning team??

So is Monroe Bynum?

I don't believe that but i will give you if we don't have a contending team by the trade deadline in 2016 then maybe he'll ask for a trade.

When u hire someone u give them the tools to succeed. Isaiah had his Defence on the perimeter, 2nd option in scoring in Dumas and Acguire, as well as a good bench Bird got his Defence and rebounding second option in Parish and Machale, Jordan got his Defence and rebounding from Grant and Rodman and second option in Pippen where is Melos?. Melo wants the ff and I believe Phil will give him the tools
1. Rebounding
2. Good bench
3. Since Melo got here the perimeter defence from the guards have been attroious
4 . Second option. Phil will give him 2.
I strongly believe if he gets the tools we can 45 wins and make it to the conference final. My 2 cents

Yeah, if it's Towns/Monroe than Monroe would be Gasol and Towns Bynum.
But if it's something like Hibbert/Towns(or another elite D center) and Towns can be Gasol with elite D--now you're talking.
