Will Fox and FO be interested in Broncos FAs?

Post#1 » by JerrySloan » Tue Feb 24, 2015 8:31 pm

There are several Broncos FAs who are supposedly not going to be re-signed unless they don't get any big offers from other teams and can be kept reasonably cheaply.

These include Safety Rahim Moore, NT Terrance Knighton, OT Orlando Franklin and TE Julius Thomas.

While the Bears need for a quality TE is not great enough to pay Thomas what he is likely to command, the other 3 are all solid players at positions of need for the Bears.

Knighton, in particular, is both a genuine force as a giant space eating run stopper as well as being considered a great positive locker presence.

What do you think?

I think the Bears are in no position to not be interested in any FAs at this point. Fox very well might want to add some of his former players and the Bears would be foolish to not at least look them over.

I'd like to get Knighton but I think getting a pass rusher should be the first priority.

Knighton, Moore and Virgil Green would all be excellent pickups.

Then from the 49ers: Culliver would be great.

Pace connection: re-signing De la Puente

only problem with Culliver is he's a knucklehead off the field. Bears don't need that.

De la Puente was a disappointment. I'd look elsewhere.

If the Bears sign Knighton that would mean one of Gregory, Fowler jr., Ray, or Beasley will be a Bear.

Knighton and Moore would be okay with me.

It's not that I don't like him, it's just after signing Miller I don't see the urgency to sign a player like Green.

But I think Miller is strictly a receiving TE whereas Green has shown he's a strong blocker.
