Bill Raferty is such a clown. "Nobody is in or out of the NCAA tourney right now" and he lists the Ivy League teams not named Harvard as teams that can't get in the NCAA tourney because they don't have a conference tourney. According to that dumbass logic all of those teams are still theoretically in play to make the NCAA tourney. I understand what he was trying to say but that is just a stupid example.

Bench comes in, lead cut in half about. Then our starters have to recover our control. It's like clockwork.

Bill Raferty didn't announce the UW game. Did you hear this during a different broadcast?
At a party given by a billionaire, Kurt Vonnegut informs Joseph Heller that their host had made more money in a single day than Heller had earned from his novel Catch-22.

Heller responds, “Yes, but I have something he will never have — ENOUGH.”

The announcers were Bill Raferty and Verne Lundquist.

The analyst was Dan Bonner. I know RafTery's voice, and he works with Fox Sports now.

On a neutral floor, both teams at full strength (Jackson is back), the Badgers are ten pts. better than MS. The final score was not indicative of how bad Wisconsin outplayed MS. Dekker didn't have a good off. game, and the Badgers screwed up the final five minutes by some dumb tos. and missed shots. Plus, MS made almost everything they threw up. When's the last time that Bryn guy went 7-8?

Do you guys think we get a 1 seed if we win out for the season and win the B10 tourney? I think Nova is overrated but they are top 4 in the polls. Gotta hope they slip up and one of Duke or Virginia slip to a 2 seed.

If we win our two remaining road games AND the B10 tourney I think we would be a near lock for a 1 seed.

While I don't think Kentucky is a lock to win it all I'd rather not be in their region as a 2
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Incidentally, what you said was far from a fact, it was speculation, which you provided some backing for. But that's besides the point.

The point was what he said was just an obvious observation about the game, that MSU shot lights out in the 2nd half. Then you defended UW, as if he was trying to take credit away from them. He wasn't. His comment seemingly had no greater meaning. It was merely a truism.

Agreed, the human polls don't mean much, if anything. They are based heavily on trends and are static so long as the higher team doesn't lose.

Anecdotally, the committee puts more stock in the "objective" polls like BPI and RPI, and I think more BPI now as the newer, improved one. Wisconsin sits 3rd in the BPI, Nova 6th. Wisconsin is 6th in the RPI, Nova 5th. And Wisconsin has the tougher schedule ahead to make up ground. Plus, the committee factors in injuries, and we had Kaminsky + Jackson out for 1 of the 3 losses, Jackson for another. Not to mention the committee isn't going to want to punish Kentucky and Wisconsin by putting them in the same region. All that factored in, I would think we win out, we'll get the #1 seed.

Even if Wisconsin ends up with Kentucky you never know what will happen come tourney time. That said Kentucky is REALLY good so they also may just sail to the Final Four without a sweat.

Raftery still does work with CBS on top of his Fox Sports duties. In fact he'll be calling the Big Ten tourney semis and championship, NCAA tourney games and the Final Four this year with Nantz and Grant Hill.

But yes, that was Bonner announcing the Badger game on Sunday.

I'd be shocked if the committee put Wisconsin and Kentucky in separate brackets if only to not deny us another Final Four thriller. That game was arguably the best of the tournament last year. Let it happen again!
