Not bad looking. No Chrissy Winters on the squad. Think they're collectively cuter than the National Championship Lady Terps.

Here in Hawaii just the other day a young fella was rocking some Maryland Pride sneakers given to him by a former Lady Terp who is now in the WNBA. (Won't divulge names, but I do like women who have good taste in clothes and who help a man sport nice gear. Much respect to this young lady).

I was outdoors on a court in the sun in HI and the last thing I expected was to see a young fella in some Terp Air Jordans or whatever Under Armour shoes. (NICE MEETING YOU, JOHN.)

We both agree that nobody plays basketball better than Maryland/DC area ballers.

Met another guy who is from DC. Played against a few Georgetown guys back in the day .... Maryland and DC are being represented well out here.

GO TERPS

Way to come in and OWN the B1G.

They'll go as far as their post game and defense will take them.

This isn't the most talented team but they have good chemistry. Lexie Brown is IMO their best player but they're only as good as their bigs can take them.

Dez Wells had 20 and 10 with 3 steals. Maryland only scored 60, Rutgers 50.

Wells is looking like an NBA starting 2 guard. He's more explosive than Bradley Beal.

Wells is older than Beal, in fairness.

I'm not sure he's a starting 2 guard but he's definitely looking like an NBA player.

A future Wizard perhaps?

THANK YOU, WIZARDSPRIDE, for posting this.

It is good to see a father and daughter have love, respect, and mutual admiration for each other.

My daughter played women's rugby at Nebraska. Hopefully, she and I can one day have the same sort of rapport Dee and Lexie Brown do.

I'd love to go out to dinner with my daughter. (I love you, Mina).

(Lexie is a Kristi Toliver fan. Small world. Met a friend of hers the other day.)

WP, I also enjoyed the post play interviews with Coach Tina Langley!

Excellent camera work. The young ladies are really well-spoken, too.

Tonight he showed athleticism against Rutgers. This is a good close out on a three point shooter, with a high hurdle by Dez at the end:

Wells might put Beal on the bench, IMHO.

Coach Turgeon:

“Dez is special,” Turgeon said. “I’ve been saying that, I think Dez is a pro. I think he should be a first rounder and he’ll make somebody’s roster. If they don’t draft him, he’ll make somebody’s roster because of the way he competes.”

Wells against #5 Wisconsin:

WP, right now I think I see an NBA starter.

I still think Dez is a late 2nd rounder. It'd take a miracle for him to go in the first round. He's really picked it up as of late, but he was not having a good season until the last couple of weeks. And there are red flags - a very high turnover rate, making only 46% of his 2's this season, and he'll be 23 in April. I think he's taller than the 6'4 with shoes measurement he got at the 2014 Nike camp, and he's exceptionally strong. The great energy he's shown bodes well in showing he can be an energy guy off the bench.

To be fair to Dez, the turnover rate could be due (in part) to the fact that up until a few weeks ago he didn't have full range of motion in his wrist....per Mark Turgeon.

And as the the wrist has gotten better his play has improved.

dez can make it onto a team. im imagining a less athletic deshawn stevenson. actually, now that i said it out loud, a less athletic deshawn will probably be playing in israel. either way, dez will have a pro career because he works hard and has a great attitude.

Two Maryland basketball teams, two top 10 rankings

Laurin Mincy is the only senior on the Maryland women’s basketball team. But she isn’t the only senior basketball player at Maryland. So before her senior night last week, Mincy got a text message of encouragement from another one of those seniors: Dez Wells, the guts of Maryland’s men’s team.

Before Wells was similarly honored at Xfinity Center, Mincy sent a similar message, telling Wells how well he’s played this year, how strong a leader he’s been, and how excited she is to watch his Terrapins in the NCAA tournament.

“We have a pretty cool relationship,” Mincy said, and while was talking about her friendship with Wells, she could have been talking about the relationship between the two teams.

This season has gone about as well as any fan of Maryland basketball could have hoped. The women are 28-2 and ranked fourth in the country. The men are 25-5 and ranked 10th. That makes Maryland the only school in the country with both its basketball teams ranked in the top 10.

Let's see how Wells does during March Madness, that could boost his prospects...haven't seen him on any mock yet.
