R. Kelly @ Small Forward?

Post#1 » by SlimShady83 » Mon Mar 2, 2015 2:10 am

I'm just curious to know how you all feel about about Kelly being at SF.

Remember it's not his natural position and this is really his first year playing

- does he have potential to be a SF?
-do you want him to stay on the team either as a SF or PF??

With next year slowly approaching, the front line will be chock a block next year which is the reason think they are trying to develop him as a SF plus he can shoot 3's

If we draft a big next year.

Hopefully he's not on the roster next season.

only for offensive purposes, like if we had a Rondo and we needed more floor spacers for him.....he's terribly slow footed though to guard anybody.

Kelly is Power forward imo. The guy isn't quick enough to guard quick forwards. I remember R. Kelly "guarding" Lebron. It was pathetic.

I'm lost as to why folks aren't interested on this guy returning..

He needs to improve on
-rebounding
-defending

It also wouldn't be a bad idea to add some bulk so he doesn't get assaulted in the post.

This kid is young and a pure shooter has a great IQ too.

It seems a no brainer to keep him...

LMAO thanks for making me laugh Earl.

Very few players in the League can guard Lebron 1on1 and yet you want a late 2nd rounder to be able to defend him lmao

very much needed the laughs.

I'm a fan of Kelly and hope he comes back and even better hope he turns into a good SF for the team.
With the front-line we are going to have next year, there won't be much time for him there so hope he develops into that SF besides we need some players at the position anyway.

Lebron isn't the only example of guys he can't guard. He sucks ass at guarding small forwards. It doesn't matter what position you want him to develop, some players can't play certain positions. Only reason to play Kelly as a small forward would be if we were going big which is not the case. Byron Scott needs to be realistic.

He's better off another team if his only way to get on the court is SF.

He's a PF. Playing him at SF is an experiment, PTP!

If we don't care about defense than sure. He's probably too slow right now to even guard a Tayshaun Prince at this stage of his career, much less the LeBrons and Durants of the league.

nice to see kelly playing a bit better as a stretch 4 (as he should be) still inconsisntent but at least better and more comfortably it seems.

"stretch 4" is such a loose term these days, anytime a PF or C can "shoot 3s" they get called that, I say shoot cause Kelly doesn't make much of them a respectable rate. This guy is not a good player, like many countless others he has flashes of nba skills but flashes don't take you far.

but Kelly IS a stretch 4. he's just not good at it(yet). he doesnt post up. hes not a rebounder. he lurks around the perimeter for open 3s or jumpshots or drives.

also its his 2nd season. he had a decent rookie year playing quite comfortably. but this year he played mostly out of position until recently.

he's not my favorite player or am i defending him, just trying to give some perspective that he's still a developing young player.

He has shot low 30s both years stop it with the "he'll get better at it stuff".....hes not good period just like wes will never live up to his draft position and expectations. I know hes not expected to be good at D either but his effort out there is a joke, hes not even trying...he makes luke walton look like leornard

i honestly dont care if we keep kelly or let him go once he's up. but point is. he is a stretch 4 no matter if you like it or not.

i dont get why you bring up wes. he's a first rounder and a bust. kelly was drafted second round 48th. uhhh what?
