Its pretty obvious wiggins is the only candidate for roy. Hes showing everything and has consistent flashes of nba superstar

You guys are so lucky to have a great young player! The last one the Lakers had was an injury prone crazyperson. I'm on the Wiggins bandwagon for sure. And how much do you think that the addition of Garnett has helped him? I'd like to think that KG is transferring some of his competitive energy to Wiggins.

Bynum was on his way to being one of if not the best center in the league when he got hit with the injuries. Wish he stayed healthy, I always appreciated the way he never brought the ball down and kept it high

He never had the drive to be great even when healthy. I always looked at him as one of those basketballers that had all the talent in the world but was just phoning it in for the pay check.

Yup, he just played basketball because he was tall and talented. I don't think he really liked the game.

Anyway, about Wiggins, I haven't seen but 4-5 Timberwolves games, so I have a question. Coming out of college, everyone said that he was too passive. Has this been true?

I think it was true to a certain extent and he showed some of that early in the season. Flip and the other coaches have really worked with him to be consistently aggressive, though, and he seems to be over that passiveness for the most part.

There's so much salt in that thread that it makes my blood pressure rise just reading it. They are particularly mad now that Noel didn't even win rookie of the month. :lol:

I didn't even notice Noel when we played them... he really didn't stand out in any way.

It's so funny reading the GB thread and seeing people talk about Wiggins saying things like "Give other players the opportunity he has and they would be ROY"..

Look at Mirotic for example. Great player, going to be one of the known PFs in the league for many years. He's getting his OPPORTUNITY right now with injuries to current players. When they were all healthy, his minutes were very inconsistent. Some nights he would play 30, others he would barely see time. Now, he is thrust into taking on a bigger role, just like Wiggins and is making the most of his opportunity.

It wasn't Wiggins fault that Rubio, Pek and Martin were all injured; 3 guys who are a focal point of our offense. Wiggins was asked to step up and be the guy for us throughout the season and at 19 years old, took advantage of that and that's why he is leading the ROY race.

This whole league is about opportunity; it's a dumb argument from people who just make excuses for Wiggins.

The "Opportunity" and "Wiggins has no defense because he allows 50+% shooting at the rim" arguments are the dumbest i've seen about him so far.

I took a look at the 76ers board. From the sound of it, nerlens has the same ceiling as Anthony Randolph. By that of course I mean better on D than mutumbo and pippen combined, and maybe bird or mj on offense so long as his free throw percentage holds up.

Checking out the draft board, some 76er fan is obsessed with trashing wiggins (on different threads too) and keeps trying to convince himself Noel is and will be better. :lol:

You wouldn't be referring to 76iology would you? That guy has posted those BPM and VORP metrics in about 5 different threads now.

yup, i suggest not go there. A couple sixers fans were trying to convince me in like december when Jabari was healthy that KJ mcdaniels was going to be better than Jabari :banghead:

That one poster I especially remember telling me that Evan Turner was way better than Rubio the summer before they traded him.
