I'd do that deal. Hitting two birds with one trade. We get a solid backup PG and get a shot at a C in the draft.

I also like Lin as an option. He's the type of PG that blossoms under Thibs' system. And he can be coached up on defense. He's sneaky athletic and he's got size to defend 2s.

I just hope we get a backup PG who'd be here longer than a year.

My preference would be one of the first two, and the Bulls should offer multi-year security (a two or three year deal) so that maybe the Bulls can have some continuity at the backup slot for D-Rose.

I'd be good with Brooks again. Mo Williams or Devin Harris would probably be my first calls, if Brooks goes elsewhere.

No reason to give anyone much more than the minimum, when we will be riding it out with Rose.

He's under contract for the next few seasons.

I can't imagine Brooks wouldn't get MMLE or partial MLE.

He's one of the best create his own 3 point shot guards in the league, 41.1% comparable to Steph Curry 41.2% and Irving 40.5%. He's a defensive liability, which also describes about 90% of the top 3 point shooter list.

Like Stuckey, I think Brooks just took a min. to go to a team where they can showcase themselves for a bigger payday next summer. Same as with Marco.

Lou Williams: 22.2 points / 2.8 assists / 2.7 3 pointers / 33.2% 3P%

Lou made MLE for the past 6 years and is generally considered a good contract. He was signed for a $15M contract over 3 back in 2012.

I think retaining Brooks for vet min is not going to happen. IMO he's better than Nate & Marco, and only below DJ. But in any case none of those 3 had to settle for min. They all got $2M-$3M, and Brooks will as well.

That's one of the guys I looked at, when I put that b-ball ref list together.

This is the exact trade I have been calling for weeks. SAC would want to dump Landry or Thompson on us in this deal though. Both of which aren't what we are looking for. I wouldn't do this trade without the Kings pick coming back.

The real issue is we need a 2 way PG. Not a bench scorer like Brooks. Preferable a PG that can DISTRIBUTE and run the offense. We are watching how tough it is to score with Brooks and Kirk not being able to create for others. Collison would be really good next to our shooters. He can also play PG and let Rose slide over to SG.
