Not necessarily. Its a byproduct of wanting long term success for the team. In some cases losing can actually be good as long as the team is trying and the players are playing hard because it can wake up the team and organisation instead of giving false hope by lurking around that 9th spot. it might get the owner to wake up and look at points that aren't working whether that be the coach, staff or particular players. If you win and lose and win and lose and just miss out on playoffs constantly and continue to not play your young guys then you become a team that just gets stuck, neither moving forward, nor backwards. A few hard losses to actually wake up the organisation wouldn't be the worst thing and it doesn't mean in any way I'm not a fan.
Sorry, I don't buy that bs. Accepting loses because a team is young is one thing, saying you wish the team lost a game is another. You seem to be one of those people that think there is no way to draft a good player in the late lotto, or later than that. And if you don't like those picks, you shouldn't be cheering for Goodwin, Warren, and Bullock to get any minutes, because they are byproducts of drafting later in the first round.
We are starting our second year player, and both Goodwin and Warren are getting minutes, so I'm not sure what your point is there.
So again, to me, you never wish for your team to lose. You cheer for teams you hate to lose.
I would like picks that aren't in the 11-14 year after year. The one pick in recent times that has been high looks like he will be awesome and is the guy you mentioned who IS actually starting at the moment. We picked up Goodwin at 28 which would be awesome because it would mean we had the 3rd best record in the league and were doing great. I don't believe in the **** where you can be happy to win about 40 games a year finish 13-14th each year and show no progress of going forward.. It's the exact spot you DONT want to be in.
We may as well be losing when the team isn't geling, the coach has no authority over his players and there is no signs of leadership. The only problem is we are doing this but winning just enough games to not get a top 5, 10 or even 12 pick.
It took us 55 games and a lot of trades to even give Goodwin or warren a sniff so not sure how you can say we are playing our young guys. Personally, I wouldn't consider 21/61 games at a rate of 10mins per game in those and 20/61 at a rate of 9mins per game as actually PLAYING our young guys. In the majority of cases these minutes are late when the games have been iced anyway.
We aren't making playoffs so if you are more of a fan than me by wanting to see Marcus Morris, Barron, green and those guys play and us win then good on you. I would rather see us play our young guys throw them in big situations and see what we have for the long term rather than win some meaningless games with older guys. That's simply short sighted and I think a true fan cares about short and long term.
Our super young guys weren't ready, and you would know this because you watched them this summer. They got a ton of burn in the DLeague, and have grown tremendously from that experience. Goodwin is very much in control now, compared to what he was like at the start of the season.
And don't play the "oh you can be happy with blah blah blah, playing" when you don't have me quoted saying such a thing. It's a lame argument, because it is some bull you made up, and then attached it to me.
I don't go into a season worrying about where I'm going to draft, and the teams that appear to be doing so, are a joke to the league. I like how our guys are being incorporated, and I like that we don't rush them. I've already said that we shouldn't play Green or Thornton anymore, and since the trades, I've stated a number of times that both Goodwin and Bullock should get 16 minutes a game at the two spot, so either you've read this, and have ignored it, or you shouldn't talk about what I think because you don't know.
We still have a winning record, and many of our guys are signed for a long time. You never ever create a losing culture. You can never rely on the draft to save you. It's a crapshoot. Even if you think you draft the best player, they could be an Oden, a Thabeet, a Beasley, a Derrick Williams..
Oh well this is going nowhere. Go ahead and wish for loses, I will instead wish for wins, bleed purple and orange for another 36+ years, and cheer for every player whether they are a rookie or an old vet, as long as they are wearing a Suns uniform.
As for your other speculation bs, there doesn't seem to be a reason to discuss it.
So f*cking awesome, the Suns, the team I bleed for, won a game!!! I'm happy.
