I set up a poll concerning the current Grizzlies issues. Feel free to discuss your take on what's going on with the Grizzlies.
As we know the Grizzlies have come back from the All Star Break and are currently struggling with issues like losing focus in the 4th quarter, not getting the ball to the right players in certain situations and etc. Although the Grizzlies maintain a record of 42-17(good record) they are playing in the tough gauntlet known as the Western Conference. Losing to teams with sub .500 records is not something they can afford to keep happening and losing to teams with above .500 records are no walk in the park either. With March and half of April left on the schedule, can the Grizzlies find ways on fixing these issues at hand or will things get much tougher to the point of self destruction?
My issues stem from substitution patterns. Most times as DJ puts the bench on the floor whne the grizzlies get a strong lead, they lose the lead b/c the ball movement and that offensive spark from the bench is not out there to keep the lead up and keeping opponents from chipping away from it. Which can lead to indecisiveness and turnovers.
Another issue is 3 point shooting. We have three point shooters on the team: Conley, Lee, Green, Carter(injured)Udrih are the main guys in this category. The Grizzlies are habitual at being at the bottom of the league in this category for several seasons now. At times, the Grizzlies have managed to get away with at times and have lost games due to this issue. All the guys I have named are good three point shooters, but they are simply too passive aggressive minded mean they tend to pass up a three point shot out of being a bit too unselfish or maybe hesitant of missing the shot.

Re: Grizzlies Cooling Off
I work with a die-hard Clippers fan and he thinks our trouble is guards. He didn't even remember we have Vince Carter or Tony Allen. Ok not sure how die hard he is - but my point is that without Vince I don't see us in the NBA finals. I hope he gets back. But I have 100% confidence in Lee, Udrih, Clashes and without mentioning Conley and Allen....
I don't see us cooling off - I just see this team poised for a deep playoff run. A loss to Utah right now is meaningless to me. A road win in Houston with playoff positioning on the line???? HUGE!!!!!!!!!

If u saw yesterday game, did u see the first play in the second half? why cant we run plays like that all time? we need to be a team of X´s and O´s to win a championship with no superstars.

Re: Grizzlies Cooling Off
It's been a week since this thread was made. So far since the break the Grizzlies have gone 6-6 with ranges of problems they need to solve. Last night's game vs. the Wizards will be an exception due to rest and one injury(Conley). It remains clear that offensive production has been an issue from players not coming thru to forcing the issue which can lead to TOs. There's also "The Jeff Green Conundrum" that is going around Memphis like the flu epidemic. Some people argue that Green is better off starting while others like myself say that he's best off the bench due to a lack of better offensive production coming off the bench.
There's a laundry list of issues at work with the Grizzlies and time is becoming the essence for them. They need to figure out their issues and find solutions in order to right the ship into the playoffs in tact and fight their way thru teams and do what they have to do to get into the Finals and win it all.

I think a lot to do with it is complacency/late season fatigue. We all know what the Grizzlies can do when they are focused; they can beat the best teams in the league. They were basically on cruise control in the first half of the season and most of the players think they can turn it on when it really matters.

Re: Grizzlies Cooling Off
Injuries to Conley have killed us this season. Also, the substitution patterns in the fourth quarter are horrible. We keep matching our bench up against team's 1st string guys. It literally makes 0 sense, unless you are saving your guys for the playoffs.
