I see some things I like about Jackson and some things I really don't like at all. I very cautious about handing him some big contract this offseason.

Quit being a fanboy Reggie and Stuckey have similar play style only stuckey gets to the line more.

KCP was 4 of 14. We'd be killing other guys for this. It's time he stopped getting kid glove treatment.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

And stuckey is able to average 10 assists and score in the 4rth quarter. Man we shouldn't have let him go.

In the same post you say Lewis and tolliver can defend, but monroe is a horrific defensive player and then say Reggie and Stuckey shouldn't be compared.

The stuckey comparison is right on point so far. Both have good size at PG, explosiveness, can't shoot from outside, rely on drive and dishing... It's all very similar. Also Stuckey had plenty of "clutch" moments as a piston.

I will give Reggie a clear advantage on handles/speed and from stats i looked at he's probably better in isolation/handling the pick and roll but its becoming increasingly difficult to justify having a PG unless he's a Westbrook/Rose/Iverson type player who can attack the rim ferociously. Add it to the fact that drummond has range about as long as his height and you need deadeye shooters from 2,3,4 to compensate.
Its why part of me wonders if reggie jackson means less moose+drummond together and that will mean less opportunites for moose. During the win streak they were alone for longer periods of time but i think Stan knows that he's tied to drummond and if he intends to bring back jackson than monroe becomes to redundant to pay such a salary for.
I came here to do two things: get lost and slice **** up & I'm all out of directions.

People been saying he's a bust of a pick. Plenty of people are on him for it.

I'll give you that reggie looks better than Stuckey, but my point was they play in a very similar way.
If SVG is committed to PG long term, he needs to add more shooters and I'm guessing Monroe is gone followed by jennings next offseason if he isn't traded before that. I'm not a fan of that situation because I don't think reggie is going to get to a westbrook/rose type level.

If Reggie gets a post-rookie max, we're screwed more than if Monroe gets a post-rookie max. And also to denote, a post-rookie max isn't some superstar money considering the cap is going to go up anyways.
I'd take the rare bigman over the PG that are a dime a dozen in this era. Pretty simple.

Re: Det @ Pel, 8pm
Everyone has their guys on the team they love to rip on and others they love to turn a blind eye to. When they are combined, we start to see how much farther we have to go:
-Reggie hurts our spacing but that's probably lessened with a stretch 4. He also has great defensive potential.
-Greg is a consistent pro and we don't want to lose him but he is not a 4 in today's NBA. He can't guard stretch 4s.
-We have no wings. None.
-Besides the baby hook, Dre is almost the exact same player he was 3 years ago.
-KCP is up and down, besides defense who knows what you're getting.
Basically every starting spot has issues. Playoff teams may have these issues at 1 or 2 spots, not all of them.
This means we need to trust SVG to add and develop players. As (intense) fans, that's all we can do.

There were several things that cost us the game, not just Monroe.
When you have a bad game with 13 pts 15 rebounds and 5 assists, it should say something about the player.
Did anyone notice Davis was killing everyone on court?? Making contested shots with ease?? Maybe it's because the guy is the best big in the league?? I don't know... just a thought.
i posted this earlier, its one thing if it was just davis, but its been the past 2-3 games. Moose is getting the brunt of the blame due to the fact that his man was teh one consistently scoring, and these aren't contested shots. I could probably go back to just one of the last 3 games and count at least 4 times moose bailed the other team out by allowin him to simply spot up and shoot the ball with the shot clock winding down. His defense has been inexcusable. What made it so glaring this game was the fact that he was completely useless on offensive side this game, and at times was a blackhole.
idk if moose has sailed it in, or there's something going on with him personally(like dre in Jan.) but his play has been lackluster. And i really think the monroe lovers need to stop making excuses for him(not referring to you dv33)

Monroe is having a rough few games, that's true. He's come up against some of the best PF's in the league and hasn't done a great job, but don't you think there's a reason SVG puts him on the best opposing big?? And do you really think Love is going to hit 8 3's against Monroe every time?? He didn't fair so well against Monroe the last time they played. And don't you think Monroe's offensive production (13 and 15 on an off day is pretty good) is going to drop when you lose majority of your spacing and depth in one day? tolliver, meeks and sometimes KCP are the only shooters on the team.
I'm not simply making excuses. Look at Monroes numbers after Smiths waiving and then look at his numbers since Reggie came to town. Not reggies fault of course, but it's no coincidence.

Monroe has been the focal point of the offense far more than KCP. KCP is basically a spot up shooter. Monroe gets dobled constantly and still puts up points. Monroe didn't "shoot us out of the game".
well when you get blocked 19 times, and go back to the same stupid move. I can appreciate a Moose trying to get it going, and keep attacking, as a matter of fact i love that, but not when your being a complete lazy a* on defense. I honestly had forgotten moose's fake "i'm trying as hard as i can" run at the defense. Past 3 or 4 games, he's given up so many open shots. There's really no excuse when its consistent. I have seen monroe make tremendously athletic plays this year(chase down block for instance), so to say he's not capable is a lie. Its a matter of effort.
Monroe's , hopefully, is going to have a bounce back game tomorrow , and probably have a couple oo's and ahh's from even his biggest crtics, however it does not change the fact that he's being lazy in a contract year. He said he wanted SVG to prove himself. Motha f* , why don't you prove yourself. You want the max cuz your tall and got a spin move!?

Don't get me wrong, Monroe had his share of problems tonight, but that's it, his own share. The rest of the team struggles since our starters do not have spacing. Butler needs to player more or we need to run small ball more often. Tay doesn't need to start.
This is very true. Butler should be starting with Meeks and KCP on the wings when he rest. Prince is bringing very little to the team at this point.
As much as everyone here loves to hate on Singler, he and Jerebko were big loses to the team.
i can argue thats a little harsh, shawn williams barely has had time in our system , however, hes' shown flashes of great athleticism. The law really kileed us tonight, as much as i appreciate his consistent effort, his absent mindedness really killed us at times. #datdunkdoe
Singler is actually a bigger loss than i would like to admit. He is a player that tended to be in the right place , i wonder if SVG goes after him

KCP will have 22 one night then 4 the next. He hasnt shown consistency yet during his first 2 years.
The 2 are not even comparable.
edit- Speaking only KCP offensively, KCP defensively has been PHENOMENAL.
What those stats don't show is how much his lack of defensive effort or iq killed momentum . KCP has never shot us out of a game, yet, i am counting at least 3 games in a row, where monroe's man he's supose to be defending has dramatically impacted the game
Yes & No, Monroe has been slow on rotating way too often but a lot of that is lack of athleticism not effort.
With Love & Davis, again, they torch everyone because they are 6'11 2 guards. Every team has this problem when they play guys like them. Again, luckily there is maybe 4-5 legit guys like this in the entire league so its not a huge concern.
i would have to check, but i believe, until that point, love was kind on the outside and looking in. I think Moose single handedly brought the cavs together

Re: Det @ Pel, 8pm
Anthony Davis is or is close to the best player in the league. That said, the way to play him is physical. Other teams know this and do it, but I didn't see much of it in this game, and so he had a "historic" night. Within the rules of the game and sportsmanship, you need to bang on this guy.
Let's consider that Moose's offensive efficiency (and the team's for that matter) has been greatly affected by the trading away of a good part of our outside shooting. This has again allowed teams to pack the paint and send early double teams to limit both Monroe and Drummond around the basket. It also makes the inside passing game more difficult. I don't know whether Monroe will return, or truly wants to. It seems he is clearly much more comfortable at center. For a while this season he seemed more willing to shoot the 15 footer, but not so much lately. Do we trade Drummond, move Monroe back to the 5 and look for a 4? Has SVG already written off this season and is concerning himself with the future of the team? I have to wonder with the results of the trade deadline deals.
"Besides the baby hook, Dre is almost the exact same player he was 3 years ago."!? So, beside addressing what has repeatedly been remarked upon as being his greatest need, a signature "go to" move, he's the same player? Yes, we all want him to improve defensively (PLEASE stop biting on pump fakes), but every game now he'll make some nice pass and that was something we didn't see 3 years ago. Faster progress would be nice, but it's not like there has been none. We didn't lose this game because of the play of our bigs.
Nothing like a losing steak to change the tenor of the board.
