Tough to hear, but at the same time it becomes necessary as TP has shown his age and his play has been effect as a result. Troy was one of the best safeties the Steelers had for a long time. Now it's gotten to the point that it's time to revamp the defense in order for the team to get better. Whether not Troy decides to retire or not. Either way, I wish him the best of luck and want to say thx for being the best SS for the Steelers bringing the physicality and mental toughness to the squad and for being a Steeler.

Ages old but I just got here so here goes. Troy is one of my favorites and I hate to see him go but the time is probably right. As hard as it was for me to see him go my youngest daughter his loosing her first favorite Steeler I think we all remember how that feels. She is leaning toward Bell as a replacement favorite and who can blame her for that choice. Back to Troy looking foreward to 5 years from now when he becomes another Steeler in the HOF.

I can agree with that. One thing about the Steelers, at least they have a lot of favorites to chose from based on how they play and how they effect the game in the Steelers favor.
