Interesting. Would the Knicks do that right now?

This. If Warren and Archie are our future stars, then adding a SF or SG is not the best use of funds. Look to solidify the PF/C spot by adding more bulk and rebounding.

I agree with both of you, though I am skeptical on Archie becoming a star.

Me, as well. I just don't get all of the posts saying that SF is our biggest need. It's our fattest position at the moment. Why in hell would we add yet another. I get that Tucker needs to be upgraded, but that's what Warren was drafted for. Have all these posters wanting a SF totally given up on Warren already?

To me, in order of importance for FA targets, this is how I'd list the positions:

PF
SG (a true SG to spell Knight)
PG (back-up for Bled)
C (if we don't keep Wright, this moves up)
SF (Again, Warren, Tucker, Marcus--we have more than enough--depth and talent)

I would stay true PF and C. I'm always up for a big three point threat too. But I want to see Bullock hopefully become that. Honestly I don't expect us to get one of those premier names no matter how much people talk about it. No way Spurs, Bulls or Warriors let those guys get away anyway.

At least we have space for value signings. But if there is no one there that REALLY fits, we should just retain the cap space (we've seen how just using it to use it can negatively impact chemistry) to absorb people in trades like we have in the past....and also, salaries will go way the following summer, so the more space we keep for 2016 the better.

Well that can't do it right now, but they could do it on draft night, after they make their selection. But I'm sure they would have to have no one on their radar at the pick they have, and it could be a number one pick, so I doubt it.

It would put the Suns in a terrible spot though, because we would have no point guard under contract at that point.

I still don't know why we would want to give Dray $12-15 million a year, when Tucker does the same job at $5 million, and with better shooting from two, three, and free throw. $7-10 million for two more rebounds a game? Heck just have Tucker take shots from other guys, and he will make up the point difference since he shoots better.

Probably not.
Maybe we can trade Bled/MoBros to em for their pick on draft night. Frees up salary cap space. We could match any offer for Knight, go after Jimmy Butler. Draft Okafor.

I'll be stoked if we could pick either Jimmy Butler or Mathews in the off-season.

If this injury is as bad as its thought to be, what do you think Matthews would cost in the off season? 12mil? No chance we get butler, Chicago will match anything.

If we wanted top 5 picks, we could have had 3 of them in 24 months.

McD's moves are to get young players, rather than unknown picks. I think he's going to do Bledsoe/Knight and target a SF to go along with Markieff and Len. That's his core then he builds the bench.

Not saying I agree, but that seems to be dealing with the reality of our strategy.

If I was McD I would try and throw a couple of picks to Phi for Embiid. If we had a big rotation of Embiid, Len, Kief, Wright we'd have the best rotation in 2 years.

The Suns don't have the cap space to offer a max contract to anyone. If we want to keep Knight and Wright, we will have only the MLE to spend this summer.

We can over someone 13 or so mil BEFORE resigning knight.

If you're signing someone for 15m he should be worth getting rid of a couple of cloggers like Tucker and Wright if needed.

I hate that 4-8m type player that makes you competitive but doesn't really get you anywhere, unless you already have your 3 x 15m type players.

Wright is far from a clogger. We just dont use him the right way, as we don't have enough playmaking IQ in our guards to utilize him and/or a coach who will draw up plays that benefit him and the team (as he shot like 60-70% for seasons, :o )
Look at the numbers he put up in Dallas for 3 years, and look at his numbers here.
In theory he could/should be the perfect backup 4/5 next to a scoring frontcourt mate, doing the dirty work in about 20-25 minutes.
In reality, I'm not a 100% sure he'll re-sign here if he has a choice.

Wright showed last night his potential as a dominant PNR nightmare.
When our guards starting feeding him, watch out... he can catch pretty much everything, has a nice touch with running layups and even better... he's a willing passer when someone is better suited to score.

Put him on some high PNR or maybe some angled ones and let him shine.
He's pretty much like Unibrow when scoring in PNR, so this speaks volumes about his best trait.

$12M and we would have to renounce Wright, Green and Thornton. That's not enough for Draymond or Butler.

Our horrible coach has literally destroyed Brandon Wright. If I was him I would abandon ship at the end of this year.

First Dragic camping in the corner and now this. Don't even get me started on the Green chucking, no Len touches, not playing youth and more. Can we just fire Hornaceks dumb ass before he completely ruins everybody on the team?

Can you stop spewing this horse **** in every goddamn thread? There is a dedicated thread for this nonsense.

My post was actually relevant to the free agency discussion

Thank you for unnecessarily calling it out when it was far more accurate than anything I've seen you post in this thread. Hornacek is garbage. Sorry if saying that hurts your feelings.

There is a whole thread where you can bash our coach. Please don't do it here. If you wanna say BWright isn't being used to his potential and that he will probably leave is fine. The rest of the post belongs on the Coaches thread.
