It seems like I'll be watching quite a bit MLS this season.
Eurosport Germany has secured the right to MLS till 2018 and they'll broadcast a lot of games on their free tv channel Eurosport 1.
They already broadcasted Galaxy vs Fire and will have three more games this weekend.

Great to have you on board.
You should pick a team or two to follow all season.

OT, but anyone who wants to play some FIFA 15 (for PS4), just private message me and we can get some games in.
Pumped for the Whitecaps game, Ozzy? You guys should take it comfortably imo.
Timbers/RSL should be great. May stay up late and watch it.

I'm beyond pumped, should be a great game.
If you can find a way to watch it, I highly think you should do so.
I also agree that RSL/Timbers should be a good one. Always a battle for both teams.

My fault if this was posted:
All new MLS kits!

TFC's new kits are sexy as hell. I personally really like the Whitecaps home kit as well. Sporting KC's away is also nice

Re: 2015 Major League Soccer Discussion Thread
I like what I'm seeing so far. I think this league has the potential to be the top soccer league in our side of the world.
To do that, we have to stop going for old famous players and start competing with the Mexican, Argentine, and Brasilian leagues for those mid level stars from the American continent.
This is a list of Colombian players to have played or play in Argentina or Mexico
Falcao
James
Teo Gutierrez
Jackson Martinez
Cardona
Dorlan Pabon
Juan Pablo Angel
Chara
Mejia
Among many others. This is just one country, If we can get this kind of players from Colombia, Uruguay, U.S, Paraguay, Chile, etc, we would be the top league in the Americas. The top talent will always go to Europe, but all these guys were or are borderline national team players at the time. Those are guts we need

Re: 2015 Major League Soccer Discussion Thread
MLS draws a crowd on opening weekend
http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/soc ... 5907192068
Fans in Washington really need to step up. 11 thousand for the opening game is pretty bad.
Dallas had a better crowd, and their attendance is notoriously bad.
With MLS on firm footing in Year 20, attendance figures no longer need to be dissected as closely as in the past. There are going to be up weeks and down weeks, but over the course of an eight-month regular season, the numbers will hold steady. MLS has averaged more than 17,800 for four consecutive seasons, with an all-time high of 19,151 last year. The buzz surrounding two expansion clubs will provide a lift, while the death of Chivas USA (7,063) and San Jose’s departure from Buck Shaw Stadium (10,525) will rid the league of two low numbers.
Week 1 announced attendance
1. Orlando 62,510
2. Seattle 39,782
3. Los Angeles 27,000
4. Houston 22,351
5. Portland 21,144
6. Vancouver 21,000
7. Kansas City 19,784
8. Philadelphia 18,022
9. Dallas 15,236
10. D.C. 11,549
Average: 25,838.
The top seven were sellouts.
A late-week snowstorm stunted United’s ticket-selling build-up, but the game-day weather was just fine. And considering how well the club performed last year, the long-term advance sale was disappointing. The crowd count was, by far, the lowest in history for a United regular season home opener. The previous low was last year (13,840), but that followed the worst season in MLS history. United has not drawn 20,000 for a home opener since 2010. It eclipsed 20,000 in 10 of the first 15 seasons.

I wonder what attendance will balance out to be in Orlando from now on.

They've capped their stadium at 20K for all other matches, and they'll likely hover around that mark for the rest of the year.

I've been watching MLS since last season but I won't really pick a team. I've got one(Gladbach) that I root for and just watch other leagues.
Though, if I had to pick one it probably would be the Sounders, given that I'm a Sonics fan and really like/appriciate the way the owners treat their fans. Especially after going through the Schulz, Bennett, OKC thing...

Season is off to a good start. I think it will be a successful season in terms of attendance and TV ratings.

I agree.
It's great knowing exactly when games will be on.

I forget exact times, but basically...
Friday Nights on Unimas (also with secondary English feed, this channel is in the most basic cable subscriptions and in some cities, even with a basic antenna)
Sunday Afternoon on ESPN2
Sunday Night on FoxSports1
So far, MLS has gotten pretty good ratings from the games played on these channels. The broadcasts have been decent as well. Unimas needs better English commentators, though.
