whos they? thibs is the only one that treated him like a 3pt specialist

"They" refers to the team as a collective. The other players, particularly Noah and Hinrich, seemed to be encouraging McDermott's off-ball cuts and participation in the offense. Mirotic looks for him too.

Big change from most of Doug's prior games where the mindset from Thibs, players or both was "Hang out behind the line and maybe we'll find you, but more likely not."

Straw man, the argument was that the Bulls play harder without Rose. The Bulls played hard tonight, they just didn't have enough for the win. Had nothing to do with lack of effort.

I would bet every penny to my name that if Rose played last night and the Bulls lost just like they did last night, there would be a 20+ page PG thread with everyone screaming that the Bulls lacked effort due to Rose and that's why they lost.

This "play harder" meme is simply a mechanism for people to criticize Rose when they know they don't have any actual facts to back up the criticism.

The Bulls don't "play harder" without Rose. However, they definitely do lose more often without him.

Also, in their last 6 games without Rose, Bulls are scoring 92.8 points per game, over 8 points less than their season average. They are allowing 2 points less per game though.

Brooks playing like a D-Leaguer during that stretch is the main issue with the offense. He's not even earning the vet min he's getting right now. As a frequent critic of Rose before the pre-ASG run he and the team had, I retract most of it because I think the knee was hurting him for a while before he had the surgery, just like McDermott.

If Brooks plays like an average backup PG the offense is solid.

Not sure if serious. Mike James....the guy who has been signed to 10day contracts numerous times by the Bulls. His last stint was last season...if I remember right he was here during the Teague to Augustin transition.

Bulls played hard last night, but a couple plays seem to take the wind out of them like That CJ Miles three after the missed free throws was a killer, Bulls had nothing left after that

Id hate to see Indy in the playoffs, even though I think Bulls would win it would probably wear them out by 2nd round. Bulls need to face the Bucks even if it means tanking a few games. I feel the Bulls can beat them in 4-5 games and would not wear them down and would whoop a returning Rose and Butler into form

Problem with Brooks is he's consistently awful at defense and passing.

Averaging about 2 fewer possessions per game. Their defensive rating during this stretch is, 103.3. Their offensive rating is a putrid 98.9. Through Feb 23rd, they had a defensive rating of 101.6, and an offensive rating of 105.4.

And as an aside, in the 8 Feb games w/Rose, the Bulls had an OffRtg of 106.5 and a DefRtg of 96.8, net of +9.7. Things were looking up.

The harsh criticism of a rookie, after a game in which he gains some confidence after having knee problems and subsequent surgery, seems highly illogical - and slightly emotional.

It was good to see Doug get more significant minutes, and show some signs of gaining his rhythm and aggressiveness.

Looking forward to future games while Butler is out, so that his confidence can continue to grow. He'll also learn what he needs to work on this summer, having a decent body of work to assess his strengths and weaknesses.

My main takeaway from this game WAS Doug having a good run. That's a positive sign for our squad.

Yes, but were they playing with "energy"?
