For all the talk about how we need to completely redo the playoff format because it's not fair for the West to have two winning teams miss the playoffs, I wouldn't be surprised at all if Phoenix and New Orleans end up with losing records by the time the season is over.

The whining about that is always overblown by fans of the Western Conference teams. Last year there would have been a whopping one different team in the playoffs, seeding would have definitely favored the West overall though. They definitely have the cream of the league, or most of it anyway, but it's not like teams 12 of the 16 best teams are from the West with only a handful of East teams, which is what some folks make it sound like at times.

Even if two winning teams out West miss out and two losing teams in the East get in, it's a one year anomaly. Not worth all the extra travel and a complete overhaul of a system that has historically nurtured a ton of great rivalries on both sides. If New Orleans got in as the 16th seed, so what? They have a 99% chance of being spanked by the top seed, same as whoever ends up 8th in the East. It's not like a true contender is going to miss the field.

4.5 games back of MIL. They have 5 games in 7 days coming up and they have a pretty tough schedule the rest of March. Here's hoping for a strong push to the six seed.

None if this is worth it if it ends with Lebron and the Cleveland Globetrotters punking us on national TV. In my opinion there would be little to be happy about if next year we return the exact same roster and our draft pick won't be a potential star/borderline superstar. We need to become more than just a punching bag for Lebron. Adding Mo kept us in the playoff race but more needed to be done to take us to the next level. Maybe next year we do something bold with our expirings.

I don't understand how you can say playing the best we can is not worth it. It is worth it to continue to develop, for our guys to see that they can win in this league, for us to have a team that will keep fighting and buying in through adversity like we've seen this season. A midround lottery pick is not likely to be a star, so I don't understand why would cheer to tank at this point.

I would be disillusioned if we were matched against Lebron in the first round again. I don't see us even stealing one game. Hawks could probably do the same damage but chances are they'd have one bad shooting night. All I want from this season is one playoff win. We get that and I'll be happy.

It's going to be really tough, but we need to come right back and beat Washington tomorrow. Had a lot of recent success against them, and they've gone through a rough patch these last couple weeks. If we can beat them right before bringing Kemba back into the fold it would be a massive boost to our chances.

We really need to get the 6th seed. The 1st seed is out of reach for Cleveland and Toronto/Washington are struggling terribly. Hopefully Cleveland rests Lebron and Chicago somehow manages to steal the 2nd seed in the event we get stuck in 7th.
