The New York Knicks are reportedly interested in trading the team's upcoming lottery pick for an established player to pair with Carmelo Anthony and help attract another big time free agent. Even though they are not allowed to trade the pick before the draft, they can agree to a trade and draft a player for another team and consummate the trade later.

I would be open to trading Eric Bledsoe to the Knicks for a top 3 pick. Phil Jackson loves strong guards that play defense and I think Bledsoe would fit well with Carmelo and changing the identity of the Knicks. I am not convinced Bledsoe can run an offense every night by himself and he would not have to playing with Carmelo.
The Suns are a bubble playoff team right now. Two years in a row. Not good enough to really compete and not bad enough to tank. A very difficult position to be in. Trading Bledsoe would kind of be like starting over but so what. What free agent out there that realistically would come to the Suns now would catapult them to elite status? No one I can think of. You need to have a top five player in the league to truly compete for a title. The Suns do not have that right now. None are available this year in free agency. I am all for them going the Seattle Supersonics/OKC Thunder route and building from scratch in the draft. They already have the toughest spot to fill which is the center in Alex Len. They have Warren and Goodwin. Maybe they hold onto Brandon Knight as he is still very young too. If they can draft an elite level power forward prospect it would be a great thing. The worst part about the Suns is that they are not improving with their current team. They are treading water. They need a new direction.
