Vincent Ellis: I asked SVG about is he prepared for financial commitment for Jackson even if play continues to be uneven: "This isn’t a tryout,” he said. Twitter @Vincent_Ellis56

The "present"? We wanted to believe, but we were never really going to the playoffs. In the 10 games D.J. Augustin took over as PG we were 4-6 with couple bad losses in there (@PHI, MIN)

Nice playing a little bit of hardball with Reggie and his agent Stan . The whole Monroe situation must still be haunting him. I' don't know, I'm not overly impressed with the kid but I can definitely see some things I like. His ability to get to the rim and his athleticism are definitely some perks to have at that position. He also seems to be good at finding Drummond which is a big plus.

I won't be mad and see it as a huge blow if we gave the kid around 12 mil per considering that's about the going rate for most starting PGs in the league with any potential and there's the new TV deal around the corner which would make a 12 mil per signing look like a 8-10 mil per signing. I just don't want to hear no crap about max deals coming around and hopefully we can get him for mor around the 10 per range but I think 4/48 is about as cheap as you can lock him up for.

I'm not sure how committed he is to Monroe. He played chicken with him to the point of his taking the QO. Not sure he's sold on him playing with Dre.

Dont kid yourself, hes no dummy. Hes always wanted Monroe.

The ball has smartly been put in Monroe's court by himself & I understand his timidness towards Detroit after his entire tenure has been a cluster fk.

I think the post Josh change which is the first real light this franchise has had since 2008 along with Stan's commitment to Moose helps us considerably with Monroe.

Everything SVG and Gores have said indicates that they want Moose back. Especially Gores, who has literally outright said that he wants Monroe back:

"We've always wanted Greg. We weren't able to make the deal in the summer, but we always have. He, by the way, has great character. He's a true professional. Even though we weren't able to make the deal, he's been there every day. Given the new culture with Stan, I think we have a great shot with Greg. Of course, it'll be his choice."

The only question is, as Lucidity alluded to, whether or not Monroe feels the same way.

Greg didn't talk to any other teams because he didn't want the Pistons to match. He wanted options.

i don't think he wants monroe back at the price he'll be asking. its also a little wierd that we never got any reports of a offer.

Except when we did last Summer.

Monroe should thank his agent, they handled that RFA 100% right.

Im hoping for the best this Summer though.

there's not one report that was confirmed. and the 60 over 4 was denied by moose. The fact that moose stated" i was never offered that" as oppose to just remaining quite, is little strange

If SVG gives Jackson a big contract in the summer he might sacrifice the future too if Jackson can't improve his scoring efficiency and 3pt shooting. He must be really sure he can improve in that area because i don't.
While Jennings always had a terrible FG%, he started in the league 37% from three and always was decent off the dribble as a 3pt shooter, his shot selection was questionable but not his ability to knock down long range shots.
Jackson meanwhile in his first year: 21% from three, 2nd year: 23%, 3rd year: 33%, 4th: 24% with Pistons, 28% with OKC.

This has Josh Smith 2.0 written all over it.

We didn't sacrifice the present for the future, we sacrificed the present period.
