MIA and MIL losing takes a little bit of the sting out of losing to WAS tonight at least.

Boston beat Miami- we're tied with Indiana for 7th and 8th tonight, but they have the tiebreaker. Miami's now a half game back, and Boston is just two games back. Pelicans are 7 points up on the Bucks inside a minute. If they hang on, we're only 4 1/2 games back from the Bucks for 6th. Losing to Washington tonight hurts. They're 7 games up now.

I'm just hoping we don't fall right into Lebron's privileged lap again.

We're in no man's land. If we make the playoffs we'll be embarrassed again. If we miss we won't draft ahead of the Pistons. There's no way we catch the Bucks or fall past the Pistons. It's treadmill territory. Yes Cody and MKG are improving but that's 2 years in a row and next year the roster will be the same, so it will be 3 years in a row. The thing is you need skill to win a playoff series and luck to win the NBA lottery. We definitely don't have the skill it takes but luck does not discriminate unless you believe the NBA rigs the lottery. Everybody potentially has some. If your argument is we have sufficient skill to not be embarrassed then I don't know what to tell you to pry your mind from that delusion.

We have twenty games left to make up a 4.5 game deficit on a team that has lost 7 of their last 9 games. It is definitely possible that we catch MIL.

Four of our next seven games are against non-playoff teams - home against the Kings Wednesday, @ Utah on 3/16, @ Sacro on 3/20, then @ Minny on 3/22. Two of those seven games are against the Bulls, who are themselves dealing with a lot of injuries and have dropped three in a row.

We have two two day breaks in those next seven games and only two back to backs - Utah then LAC and Minny then CHI.

Really need a good showing to stay up in this race. Lots of winnable games in the next couple weeks.

We are 18 - 10 in 2015 despite injuries to Al, Kemba, Biz, Lance and MKG in that period and unbelievably poor performances from Lance (when healthy) and Neal.

If we keep that winning percentage (64%) for the rest of the season, we will finish with a record of 41 - 41. That would be pretty remarkable considering that we were 4 - 14 at the end of November and 10 - 23 at the end of December.

Remaining schedule looks tough to me. Pacers are clearly in. Fortunately you don't have to get ahead of them to get in.

I'm not sure how we have a much tougher road than Indy.

Playoff teams (based on current standing) left for us : ATL (2x), HOU, LAC, CHI (2x), WAS, TOR (2x), IND

Playoff teams left for Indy: CLE, HOU, DAL, OKC, MEM, TOR, WAS (2x), CHI, MIL, CHA

We have 10 games left against current playoff teams to their 11, and they are playing four West playoff teams that may all be fighting for seeding.

Indiana is playing great and I certainly think it'll be tough to stay with them if they keep up their level of play. I actually expect us both to pass MIL.

Whiteside suspended tonight against the Nets. Hopefully Brooklyn can pull that one out.

Milwaukee plays Orlando tonight. Bucks have been struggling, but I don't see even them losing to Orlando.

1/2 game lead over us and a 1 game lead over the 9th spot is not clearly anything but 7th place on this particular day. One extended stretch without George Hill and Indy has no shot, imo. It's the same with us hypothetically losing MKG, same with Miami hypothetically losing Dragic or Wade.

I do think those three teams (with Boston the strongest contender on the fringe) have begun to take control of the race though, and I certainly agree that Indy has as good a chance as anyone when healthy.

An airtight assertion based on a 1 game lead on 9th place with 20 games to go, followed by a magic 8 ball prognosis as backup. Well now I'm sold.

We'll just have to wait and see, right? As for the assertion, I was making it weeks ago before they were even in the top 8.

First time in a looooooong time that I can recall where I'll actually be cheering on Brooklyn.

I was thinking that Indy was just blowing up right now, but then read this from a Pacers fan on the GB:

Not to rain on the parade, but the Pacers have gotten a lot of breaks since the All Star break. They have played the Sixers and Knicks each twice, the Warriors without Stephen Curry, the Bulls without Jimmy Butler and Derrick Rose, the Cavaliers without Kyrie and Lebron, and their only loss came to the Thunder without Kevin Durant. So Im not reading that much into this. That being said they have finally gotten healthier and did seem to pick up the play when the idea that Paul George could come back this year.

Will be interesting to see if they can continue to play at this level.
