Re: Official Free Agent Thread: What to do with our cap space
LOL at Matthews getting 20 million a year.
If so, Definitely means Bledsoe, Hayward are bargains considering they contribute both sides of the court and then some.
And Curry??
So whose minutes is he taking??
Edit: Oh, thats right, Knight is injured.. lol, forgot about that.

Re: Official Free Agent Thread: What to do with our cap space
Hopefully one of our young shooters (Bullock, Curry, Bogs?) can pan out. It'd be great to bring in a good shooter who can hold their own on the defensive side of the court. Gives guys like Bled, Goodwin, and TJ room to attack the hoop. We need shooters, not chuckers. Fill the line with consistent shooters and we'd be much better this year.

Re: Official Free Agent Thread: What to do with our cap space
Long term my vision
Center: Alex Len, two-way center, Bogut-esque but more agile. Somewhere around 14 points 12 rebounds and 2.5 blocks when he gets solid 30-34 minutes.
Power Forward: Draft / Free agency / Trade
Small Forward: TJ Warren, somewhere around Caron Butler/Cedric Cebalos production. 17ppg 6rpg type of swing man. Hopefully he becomes a long range shooter also.
Shooting Guard: Bogdan Bogdanovic, I think he is a sleeper. 6'7, can shoot, can drive, has good vision. I really like the Euro Joe Johnson comparison. He needs to be able to do "his thing" when he comes to the NBA though, as in play on the court.
Point Guard: Archie Goodwin, I know Suns have Eric Bledsoe and Brandon Knight.... but if it was me, I would consider trading both or one of them in a package that gets the Suns a legit Power Forward. Ideally I would keep one of them to be part of the PG/SG rotation, so that either Goodwin or Bogdanovic are off the bench as a 6th man.
Eric Bledsoe is not 5 star Point Guard... but easily a 4 star Point Guard. Somewhere around Kyle Lowry level, but with lesser ball handling but superior athleticism. Brandon Knight in the other hand can play off-ball as a shooter and a gunner... a Gilbert Arenas-type PG (poor man's version).
I dont think Bledsoe and Knight are the long term solution for the PG/SG spot though... I see Goodwin and Bogdanovic WITH ONE of them however.
At the end of the day, Suns need players that WANT to do other things on the court other than shoot the ball and score.
The Suns have too many "shoot-first" players and players that want to get "their's" first.... the Warriors, Rockets, Bulls, Spurs, Hawks etc have players that are on the court to fit in with their star players/scorers. Players that make the extra pass, the hustle screen, the IQ to move to spots to open up space etc. Suns players (a lot of them) are looking to receive the ball so they can score... too many cooks..

One of the benefits of signing a Curry is to hopefully have their Mum attend Suns games.... have you seen Steph and Seth's mum? Unbelievable.... hotness right there.

Seth Curry might be better than Tyler Ennis. This could be a nice pickup. We need a shooter too since 4 out of our 5 starters are not good 3 point shooters and the only shooter off the bench that we have locked up is Marcus Morris.
We are a team that endlessly chucks 3's even though we aren't that good at shooting. We have other strengths which we don't take advantage of.

Re: Official Free Agent Thread: What to do with our cap space
If Suns cannot get Cousins...
I would go ALL-IN on Mirotic.
I would trade the Morris twins and a pick (protected).
If Bulls want one of Knight OR Bledsoe... I ask for McDermott and a future pick back.
Bledsoe OR Knight + Morris + Morris
for
Mirotic + McDermott + future pick + filler salary

Couldn't agree more. Mirotic is PERFECT. Young, has upside, GREAT shooter that spreads the floor, is a better rebounder than Keef and has a better attitude. If we traded Markieff, Marcus, and the Cleveland pick for Mirotic I would be ecstatic.
24 and younger:
PG-Knight
SG-Goodwin,Bogdanovic
SF-Warren,Bogdanovic
PF-Mirotic
C-Len
That's a LEGIT super young core to move forward with. Could you imagine if Archie, Warren and Len all reach their full potential? That would be scary.
I just want Bledsoe and his contract off the books. I am extremely discouraged by him this season. I no longer see him as a good point guard to go forward with into the future.

What are the odds of Durant signing in Phoenix instead of Washington/Houston/NYK/LAL in Free Agency?
Less than 0%?

keep this on the hush hush, especially from Bulls FO personnel... but I think Mirotic is the next Dirk Nowitski... not as good.. but will be the next Euro-stud PF who can shoot lights out.

So you would give up the ridiculous amount of assets and picks it would take to get Durant only to have him leave a few months after?
I can't agree with that one.

You mean in free agency? Why would he sign with this team?

I've reviewed the latest NBA collective bargaining agreement. Doctors aren't covered so the trade deadline doesn't matter. The Suns completely suck now anyways so their management shouldn't care. And the notSonics can offer those doctors such a wide variety of injuries to treat it would have to appeal to their professionalism. Just imagine all the papers they could publish in various leading medical journals. The problem most likely is golf courses. As in there are way more and way better courses in Pheonix. Bottom line is Presti needs to get Bennett to cough up some the Harden savings and build a few nice courses in OKC. It should work. At least it did in Field of Dreams.
I remember hearing a few years ago that the Lakers were going to try to get our staff.
Thing is, for the medical staff, it's totally different than players and coaches. They are doing a great job and have homes in Phoenix. Why move when you are in a stable environment.
I know the poster is mostly joking but I don't think anything outside of a ludicrous amount of money would send them packing.
Not joking. Crying.

Eh we've seen Seth Curry and what he brings to the table, 3PT shooting and that's about it. Ennis brought a pass first mentality (sometimes to a fault) which was fresh and something we needed. Would take Ennis over Curry any day of the week.

Agreed
With all that's happened over the offseason and the negative reputation we've seemingly built, I highly doubt a guy like Lebron would give us another look if we went through the same FA process again. Even with assets, I don't know if higher profile players are looking this way.
