Re: You're the GM
I wonder if Denver would do a sign and trade with Reggie Jackson, Meeks for Lawson, Chandler
And I also wonder why you guys think players like Gerald Green and Mo Williams would take less money to play for the Pistons of all teams. Mo Williams and Gerald Green would much rather get 4-6M from a contender then the Pistons who would have to overpay to get them to play for us.

Re: You're the GM
Williams signed with MN last off season for 3.75 million. Gerald Green is no longer in Phoenix' rotation and only currently making 3.5 mill. The idea that either guy will be "taking less money" at 5mill a year is absurd.

Which of these team options do you exercise?
Butler $4.5M
Tolliver $3.0M (400k buyout)
Would you let these players go for TPE's?
Meeks $6.3M, $6.5M
Jennings $8.3
Martin $1.3M
Let Butler and Tolliver go.
Trade Martin. Give Meeks another year to find his 3-point shot. I don't feel comfortable trading Jennings until Jackson proves he can play in SVG's system.
I really like Khris Middleton as a free agent. Draymond Green has grown on me too. Problem is that their current team/coach LOVES what they bring to the table and we'd have to likely offer a max contract.
There are tons of great options in the draft.

First I Draft Winslow or S Johnson and Dakari Johnson. Next I'm gonna go Hypothetical and assume we can resign Monroe, and Jackson, and throw enough money to snag D Green. We deal Anthony Tolliver to SAN for Kyle Anderson. Resign Butler. Add Laimbeer to the coaching staff. Our main rotation is all but Meeks under 25yrs old. 3 glue guys(Green, Winlow, K Anderson), 3-5 top tier defenders (Jackson,KCP,Winslow, Green, and Drummond); Lots of great passing, and size. Plus a deadline capable deal that could include (Jennings, Meeks, Butler, Martin and or Miller) for say Joe Johnson.

Re: You're the GM
Some of you are truly awful at this. The correct answer is to let all of the above walk. Theres a reason they are exp contracts that didnt get resigned during the year. Having an exp contract is a powerful thing on a bad team. SVG wants to make this his team and he inserted these stopgaps cuz we needed a full roster. Jennings is the only exception and even that is up in the air. My main priority would be to try to keep Monroe for a decent price. If someone else throws the max at him, so be it. Draymond is a decent option but I think signing him for the max would feel similar to a Charlie V situation a couple years from now. Maybe I'm wrong about that but, if we're going to win a title, it won't be with a roleplayer making the max on our payroll. Big picture guys. I pick the best available guy in the draft, miss the playoffs next year, rinse, repeat. Look forward to the cap increase and do our best to not be paying anyone not named "Drummond" more than $10 mil. If KCP, one of our other youngs, or a future pick can develop like Dre has, maybe we'll be an attractive destination for a FA. A top notch one. Not Draymond.

Re: You're the GM
S&T Monroe for Draymond - (Ws can't count on Lee and Bogut as their bigs moving forward, Monroe gives them a big perfect for their offense)
Jennings for Tobias Harris - (Magic relationship with Harris is not good, this way they get Jennings on an expiring out of it).
Match Jackson's RFA offer
Should have enough for an ~$8 mil FA if done right, sign Omer Asik
Sign Tayshaun on the Mini-MLE
Draft Russell
Drummond / Asik
Green / Tolliver
Harris / Tayshaun
KCP / Meeks
Jackson / Russell / Dinwiddie

Re: You're the GM
exercise Tolliver's option but let Butler retire
keep Meeks and trade Jennings.
Draft Winslow, Oubre or Johnson. If we jump up get KAT.
give a short term contract to either Demarre Carroll or Corey Brewer
sign a backup center that can hit free throws, for now let's go with Kevin Seraphin
Resign Moose and Jackson
Jackson/Dinwiddie
KCP/Meeks
Brewer/Draft Pick
Monroe/Tolliver
Drummond/Seraphin
Hope for player development and chemistry.

I like it, except Brewer, he doesn't really shoot the 3 ball well at all and his defense is suspect too.
Also if we keep Monroe, I don't want Reggie anywhere near this roster, we need shooters around Drumroe if this org. is actually committed to it long term.

yeah brewer was just a spitball, someone who could play the 3 and defend. figured he would be a stopgap for whoever we draft.
I'm not sure what to think about RJ. i'm obligated to keep him, not sure if i like the other options except maybe BJ

Re: You're the GM
A combination of a few posted ideas on here:
Off Season Plan #129
- S+T Monroe for Ryan Anderson
- S+T Reggie Jackson, Meeks for Ty Lawson and JJ Hickson (separate deals if necessary)
- Trade Jennings, Cartier Martin, Quincy Miller for Jordan Hill
- Offer Middleton 13-14M a year and hope the Bucks don't match or offer Carroll 7-8M a year
- Sign Gerald Green to split minutes with KCP
- Give Wes Johnson 2 year / 7M deal to back up Middleton or Carroll
- Pick up Tolliver's option
Lawson / Dinwiddie
KCP / Green
Middleton-Carroll / Johnson
Anderson / Hickson - Tolliver
Drummond / Hill

Why would the nuggets trade Lawson for Reggie Jackson? Lawson is 10x better than Jackson.
I like the Gerald Green idea tho I said get him earlier in the season.

Re: You're the GM
If we're dealing with Nuggets, then our 1st is surely going to be taken away in any deal. They get Afflalo for a protected 1st and Mozgov with 2 1sts I believe.
And Ty Lawson is a better player than both of them so it'll require likely 2 1sts with Jackson.
I like the general idea though, I think the Nuggets are prime target for us if we're trading, since they have a lot of talent we can immediately use. I love me some Danilo Gallinari though.
