He can't shoot.

Why doesn't this team call up guys who can shoot?

Murry seems like basically Temple 2.0. D-League career .305 3pt percentage -- .280 this season. But hey, he's also pretty meh from 2pt range and the FT line.

He rebounds well and is getting assists this season. Lots of turnovers, though.

His D-Leauge PER this season is 15.0, which means (according to PER) he's an average D-League player.

And he was unimpressive in a brief stint with the Knicks last season (PPA: 24).

Underwhelming.

Wow- poor man's Garrett Temple- similar size and stats, except Temple is a little taller and better shooter.

Reminds me of that Seinfeld episode where George Costanza meets that girl who is dating a guy who is more George than George himself.

When I first started watching the Bullets, they had a backup named Dorie Murrey that I vaguely remember. He couldn't play either. At first, I figured Toure must be Dorie's son, and Ernie's doing him a favor - but their last names aren't spelled the same. Ernie's just being Ernie. Why does Ted hate us?

It probably goes back to when he got into an altercation with a Caps fan as a newbie owner.

He doesn't care much for the opinion of anybody on the outside of the organization and puts blind faith into the people he's hired.

Sort of like Ted's version of Not-Invented-Here.

Came here to gauge reactions to the Murry signing. About what I expected.

On one hand, I'm just happy we're signing SOMEBODY. I was really starting to believe we might inexplicably roll with only 14 guys and not take a flyer on anybody. Would've been inexcusable, IMO.

But yeah, Murry is not the type of player I'd want, ideally. He's not a good three point shooter. We have enough evidence over the past few years to support that notion. He's simply not good at it.

Plus side: he's a great passer out of the pick and roll, something we desperately need.

Not in love with the signing, but it's intriguing and I'm glad we finally started using 10 days on somebody. Look forward to seeing Toure' get his chance.

On the D League Top-30 list, Murry is #5 right after Curry. We probably would have taken Curry if he had been available. I'm really curious about this Stockton kid, hoping he gets another shot with another team.

Yeah because it's not like Curry was avalable all season or anything like that, or that Vander Blue, A better player who we had a camp was not available !
Murry is not a good shooter, not a good passer, he turns it over a lot. . . He won't hurt you on D and he seems to be a pretty decent guy. . . This is not a move to find a diamond in the rough to try and get better or load up for a play off run..... This is what it is..... We finally get a D league call up and its no one that could have seriously helped us or could have developed into something.

So we signed a poor man's Garrett temple? Awesome... Why not try like Jamal Franklin. I mean hell even Xilas looked to be a decent floor spacer.

Its almost like they intentionally picked a mediocre player to be like: "see, D-League players aren't the answer"

Which would make sense if we didn't have captain short bus at the helm of this titanic.

This has to just be a 10 day fill in for Temple while he is out. I imagine he gets cut when Temple gets back, and then we sign Bynum- who probably needs 10 days to heal his hamstring too.

If a terrible team gives a player a seriously look and does no sign them long term, you don't sign them when you are trying to gear up for a play off run...... esspecailly when said player does not fit what your team needs, not will he get any playing time over Buttler and Webster. . . and that's saying something. We could all name about 15 guys who could help the team better than Murry. But hey, I hope the young man proves us all wrong !

Hmmm, that could be.

Unfortunately, Bynum is also a terrible player.
