29.2%

That is our 3point percent since the trade :banghead: . That is not counting the recent games against Charlotte and LA, it is probably lower than this counting them.

This is a really big part of why they're losing. Tolliver hasn't been hitting his three, KCP has been streaky, same with Meeks.

Even though it had to happen eventually, it still surprises me when Tolliver doesn't make his threes now. It got to a point where every time he threw up a three I just assumed it would go into the basket. A real shame, because he was shooting great and the whole team was. Crazy how the change of a few personnel can impact a team. Guess we saw both sides of the coin this season.

Yeah, this isn't JUST about dealing Singler and Augustin.

KCP and Tolliver have decided to stop hitting entirely.

Instead of blaming the team, lets blame RJ. He must be a bum.

Jackson and Prince don't surprise me. But, I'm not sure why KCP, Meeks and Tolliver have completely fallen apart on offense. Meeks has generally had a down season overall though.

I was at that point with Tolliver too. I was starting to get to that point with KCP when he was on his short run of going crazy with pull up 3's

Yeah, I don't think SVG planned on the guys who we had left on the roster all going cold at the same time like this. That 3pt% paired with the new people on the roster messing with the chemistry has just blown it up. That's kind of okay, I guess, we're about the long-term and Jackson must be part of SVG's vision. If we lose some games at the end of the season it doesn't matter that much :).

The more shooters you have, the better everyone shoots, because it creates space for everyone.

SVG got rid of half the shooters so the remaining shooters suffered too. He's going to have to restock on shooters this summer
You need 2-way wings, 2-way shooting bigs, and you can't allow low iq players on the court. Assist/turnover ratio is crucial. Shooting point guards are icing on the cake IF they are plus defenders.
Weaver & Casey, govern yourselves accordingly!

prior to the trade, meeks and KCP got their shots via set up. Spotting up, catching out the post, swing pass or open in transition. Since teh trade, KCP is trying to create his own shot, Meeks for whatever reason started hitting his shots, and The Law also has put the ball down more than he has all year. Spacing has been horrid as well and defensively we aren't getting stops and transition 3's.

Its a combination of things

I worry that once we are eliminated from the playoff race, the guys will relax and start playing better. We wouldn't be the Pistons if we didn't surge and drop a couple slots in the draft.

I know posters like to use Singler as a punch line, but the guy always moved the ball and moved his body. Prince is almost as bad as JSmooth when it comes to holding the ball and standing around on the perimeter.

Is this really a surprise to anybody?
You remove 3 solid shooters and a potentially good shooter in gigi and replace them with average to below average shooters. KCP and Meeks have been streaky all year. What was supposed to happen??

This always bothered me. Singler wasn't going to be featured in any highlights, but he did all the basic stuff well.
Oh well... nothing you can do now

All been said. SVG knew our spacing would take a hit the remainder of the season after trading Singler, Jerebko & DJ.

The drop off from Tolliver KCP is a little harder to grasp, although it's certainly easier to key on 1-2 guys when the spacing is already poor. Guys are also seeing different looks out of offense with all the changes.

Definitely sucks... but not entirel surprising. Work in progress.

The deadline deals were Stan's way of tanking. Monroe will leave (like I think Stan wants) and will keep Jackson at a lesser rate because he looks terrible his first prolonged starting stint. Also get a much better draft pick, likely 6-8 rather than 12th or 15th.
