Was tweeted before last nights games, Ibaka had 5 blocks, so actually second in blocks. Still, first in steals by a considerable margin and second in blocks is cray.

Being able to watch those games and see how Noel's impact on the defensive end of the floor makes it more impressive.

Noel didn't participate practice today because of his sheen.

Is it possible that Noel could actually make an all defensive team this year?

I believe that there is a first and second team. That would be amazing.

Well, he's top 10 in blocks and steals. The issue for him is that defensive rebounding is valued so highly for his position, which he lacks in comparison to other centers.

Defensive Rebounding is fine for a rookie, actually, his offensive rebounding is what needs work, although that's been improving recently.

He won't be rookie of the year, but if there was a defensive rookie of the year Noel would take it hands down, er, up blocing shots, er, swiping steals.

He's doing historic things every game now with his defense.

He's underrated. We're comparing his defensive numbers with DPOY caliber guys or atleast good non-rookie special guys in the league.

I know he's got burned a handful of times off the PnR. But when you think about it Noel is close to being the best PnR defender on eyetest (I don't have access to the numbers). I mean, when the ball handler drives he either swipes it or challenges his shot at rim. If the handler decides to pull-up he can challenge it with his length. Basically the better move against Noel is to take that challenged pull-up jumper than to take it inside and challenge him in the paint where he can either swipe the ball from you via steals or block.

He's really a very versatile defender and a very special defender that can anchor a team's defense. I haven't seen one like this since Pippen and prime gerald wallace/Kirilenko.

But his offense needs work. And it starts by having a more consistent jumper and FT.

I hope he's near as good as you describe. I haven't seen much of him, but I wanted us to draft him, so I hope he does that for you:)
