We were 15 of 58 outside of Monroe and Drummond. Christ. Glad I didn't stay up for this one.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

I had my DVR record this game, but I think I'll pass on watching it.

Team seems to have lost all of their confidence. Basically, back to the Smith era of play. Good for draft picks, not good for culture.

Hopefully Reggie's play means we get him on a nice deal. Still, DJ and Kyle were expendable and not long term solutions but losing them killed our chemistry and spacing.

We have exactly 1 spot on our whole roster where we know who'll be starting there next year. So strange.

Mock Drafts here I come...

On top of our awful shooting, how does the other teams bigs have career nights against us every game? How!?

If they opposing team's bigs can shoot, they pretty much get that shot all night long. Drummond doesn't close out on shooters. He's even choosy about when he'll challenge a shot or just hope they miss so he can collect another rebound.

Moose generally exercises more effort, but he just isn't fast enough to quickly close out, especially if he just rotated over to help protect the paint.

Hill scored 4 more points than his average. Not exactly a career night. Black had 10.

Anyway, our defense wasn't great, but it was good enough to win. We only gave up 93 points. Outside of Moose and Dre, the team only shot 15 for 58 or 26%. We shot 22% from 3. Our starting pg couldn't go 2 minutes without turning it over. That was possibly the ugliest offensive game I've seen all year.

I'm happy I didn't bother watching this game. I've been taking a small break.

SVG cut Smoove and built a balanced team with shooters to compliment our best players only to get rid of 4 shooters for guys that don't fit. Its frustrating.
RJ has potential, but I'm not sold on him. He could flourish with some shooters around him, but KCP and Meeks can't be relied on and no one else can hit a shot. Prince should barely see minutes at this point let alone start.
With the team playing so badly, i think Monroe leaves. That's sucks for me.
It's hard to watch. My years of unwarranted optimism is tiring. :(

Good thing I spent a chunk of money to organize a trip to detroit for the bulls game in a couple weeks. :nonono:

Black scored 10 pts in 22 min Ed Davis scored 13 pts in 18 min Hill had 16 pts I'd say they basically had career nights on us if they got more minutes.

It is an interesting question to ask. It seems like every big kind of gets these easy drop offs early in the game, gain confidence and make some jumpers with a late close by monroe/drummond, then they get so much confidence that everything and their mother goes in even when we do eventually start playing good defense.

DrumRoe creates all sorts of open shots for our perimeter players- we must look for upgrades at the 1-3 this offseason, this is ridiculous.

Kudos to Drumroe for being great again. Upgrades coming to every position that isnt the 4 & 5.

again moose consistently getting owned by opposing big men
Dre letting Hill consistently have that jump shot
Moose consistently giving up on the rebound or missing clutch ft

Picking the better smelling piece of crap doesn't make it not crap
