I could be wrong but I don think Murray will sign where they have a stable of backs.

Re: Murray?????????
I'd be more worried about the Raiders throwing stupid money at him. And I still think he's back in Dallas when it's all said and done.

Murray to Philly would be a bad move for all involved. Doesn't make sense right now unless Chip thinks he can get a #1 for Matthews too...

Murray?????????
Word is that Matthews will back out of deal with Philly if they sign Murray.
From what I heard the Cowboys have offered as much as $6 mil a year and are refusing to go any higher than that. If Philly is going to offer more than that then they can have him. I expect the Cowboys to place a call to Spiller and see if the can get him for much less than $6 mil a year. I also expect them to draft a guy in the second or 3rd round. Don't bet on Peterson coming to Dallas. Word is that the Bucs will aggressively pursue a trade for Peterson. The Cowboys will not get involved in a bidding war for Peterson.

I believe Cowboys would also get a 3rd round come pick in 2016 draft if Murray does sign with Philly.

Re: Murray?????????
5 years @ $42M... with $21M up front? I would hate him if he didn't take that deal.

I hate that Murray went to the Eagles, but I'm glad we didn't overpay for him. History is not on Murray's side. RBs that get over 370 carries usually begin to breakdown. Unless he is Eric Dickerson or LT good, a breakdown is almost inevitable.
I miss Sean Lee

Re: Murray?????????
So what is the thinking now? Did Jerry want A.P. all along or is he betting on someone in the draft. I agree with Jarnett. this sucks for both teams. I want the focus of the draft on defense. This changes everything. What's left of the free agent RB's is crap in my opinion and Is A.P. still on the exempt list or something? If so, what is the timetable for his return when reinstated and how would that effect us if he fortunately came to us for a reduced rate?
Or do we just say the hell with it all and take a running back like Melvin, I think that's him. The kid from Wisconsin is the one I'm thinking of. He would come much cheaper and we could use the remaining cap space we have left for the defense. So many ways to go.

the thinking is I don't think we were willing to pay 8.4 mil a year for Murray (thank god)
I wanted to keep Murray but not for that price tag.
Think we will find a suitable RB to run the rock, but I am worried about pass protection from that position.
Don't think there were any black helicopter conspiracy theroies doing this on purpose to get AP. Only way I see us even entertaining that idea is if he is out right released. Cant see us trading for him.
figure land a rookie & maybe go after someone like Spiller if price is reasonable.

There are no RB's of value (unless Spiller wanted to come here real cheap and that isn't going to happen) and Peterson isn't coming here even if the Vikings cut him (which isn't happening either). Start looking at the draft.
