Game 67: Cavs at San Antonio Spurs 9:30 EST, TNT

Post#1 » by King Stannis » Fri Mar 13, 2015 12:29 am

LeBron faces his ultimate nemesis as the Cavs visit the NBA Champion Spurs. The Cavs dropped a hotly contested game in Cleveland earlier in the year and the new-look Cavs are seeking revenge in what could be a preview of the NBA Finals. Tim Duncan hyperextended his elbow on Tuesday but is expected to play. Manu Ginobili is suffering from the flu and is questionable.

Carried by TNT.

Keys to the Game:

1. Lockdown D.
2. Sharing the ball on offense.
3. Dominating the boards.
4. Bench production on both sides of the ball.
5. Not being out-coached.
Bend the knee.

Because of Blatt, Duncan is placing the ball in the hoop over shumpert on key 4th quarter possessions because Mozgov isn't in.

Oh and James jones is in there.
Great coach.

I'd really like to get some Cavs fans perspective here.

Why doesn't Blatt play Mozgov and Love in the 4th? Love could go on a crazy 3 point shooting stretch, and Mozgov plays great D for the entire game, why wouldn't he keep doing that in the 4th? Has there been any game where Mozgov had an atrocious 4th? I can even understand Love from that point of view, but why Mozgov?

Kyrie became a man this season. WOW!

And LBJ.... what a three with 33 seconds left.

Yes, Blatt's lineup decisions are extremely perplexing.. where's Mozgov, where's Love.. why not more Thompson early..

but LBJ and Kyrie.. wow..
If Jordan>LBJ I don't think by more than Kyrie<Pippen

I've been worried and leery all year so far.. but I'm convinced at this point. Cleveland is getting a championship.

Most pts versus Spurs EVER!

Just listening to Kyrie speak and looking at him talking after the game.. the confidence, belief in his team mates and ability to mesh with each other.. the stuff that everyone thought would take time.... it's there or damn close.

Man what the hell is up with blatt? Dude must hate love. Why does he keep using James freaking Jones in the 4th over love. Mozgov should play in the 4th as well. Tonight the team didn't show up beside kyrie and LeBron

Love had back spasms again. Pretty clear he's been hurting all season.

One of the best games I've ever watched.

Wow is your board just not very active? After a game like that I would be hyped as hell if I was a Cavs fan with such a talented roster to boot.

Was that why he wasn't in the fourth? Because i was losing my ****. I was cursing blatt so much until i realised he wasn't on the bench but then when love came back on in ot i was back to hating blatt because i thought he was fine the whole time.

I still don't see why james jones had to play the whole **** time anyway. dude cant do anything out there. At least try TT and Moz and if the spacing hurts too much try bron at the 4. This habit of benching moz in the fourth has to stop. We are a better team with him on the court.

Anyway kyrie was unreal tonight, good win in the end even though we tried hard t lose it in the fourth.

I have no idea why Mozgov never plays in the fourth, no one does.

I'm so frustrated from that fourth quarter i couldnt even enjoy the win.

I'm gonna keep being a negative Nancy while i'm at it. Barkley banged on and on about how we miss use love and pointed out the 50 times we never took advantage of a mismatch he had while the spurs go to the mismatch every time. And he's right we never run offense through love and play so much stupid basketball. We won the game but spurs showed us how to play basketball properly.

I'm not sure why Mozgov doesn't normally play much in the 4th. They tend to like to play Tristan at the 5 in the 4th. I agree that Mozgov is actually better offensively and defensively. But Tristan can be a beast on the boards.

Like I don't mind TT playing in the fourth but why does he have to play the whole quarter? Split the minutes at least mozgov is clearly the better player.

I'm not sure anyone plays entire 4th quarters. I mean, we really haven't been in that many competitive games and when we are I think Blatt believes that Tristans offensive rebounding and Loves 3 pt shooting will help us come back.
