Besides Kobe, keep Clarkson, Randle, Young, Davis, Kelly, Sacre (cheap reserve C).

I'd like to for Davis to stay but not if he asks for more than 6-7m. Johnson would be an ideal backup 3, but also would not overpay him. Young would be hard to trade if he keeps playing this way, so he'll most likely stay.

In my dreams...
keep Kobe, Clarkson, Black and Randle... trade for future considerations (like super-protected 2nd round pick) Kelly, Sacre and Young to clear cap space...

get 3rd pick and select Russell or Mudiay... (first year 120 % rookie scale is 4'582'680)
with 27th pick select C. LaVert... (first year 120 % rookie scale is 1'155'600)
with 34th pick select Dakari Johnson (first year 507'336)
Sign M.Gasol 4Y/70 M (1st year 16'500'000)
Sign J.Butler 4Y/65 M (1st year 15'000'000)
Use part of MLE to sign B.Bass and other part to resign W.Johnson...
sign vet min Salmons, W.Green, R.Price and D.Arthur...

Lakers 2015/16
M.Gasol/Black/Dak.Johnson
Randle/Bass/D.Arthur
J.Butler/W.Johnson/Salmons
Bryant/LaVert/W.Green
Russell (or Mudiay)/Clarkson/Price

It is possible?

Doubt Butlers going anywhere. If he was a UFA I'd say not far fetched at all, but I just don't see how Chi lets him go. I don't think Gasol leaves either. But I think he has a better chance than Butler.

I'd like to see us draft Towns.

With Hou 1st Rd Pick and our 2nd Rd Pick I'd like to see us get any of these guys:

PG: Tyus Jones
SF: Sam Dekker, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson
C: Dakari Johnson

I prefer Tyus Jones and one of Dekker or Hollis-Jefferson because we'd be drafting Towns so I'd rather us balance our young front court with some much needed vet presence.

Free agents I'd sign Wes Matthews. With his achilles injury I'm thinking Afflalo has a great shot of locking up that starting SG spot, he's been looking for an opportunity like this (starting on a true contender). I think we could steal Wes away for I'm hoping 10-11m. He's young and old enough for this type of rebuild and I think he fits in the long term as well. I'd also add Mo Williams or Jameer Nelson to add vet presence at the pg position. Sadly I don't think we can steal away Tobias Harris without offering nearly a max deal for Orl not to match.

Bring back Wayne Ellington and Carlos Boozer. I think Ed Davis is gone, and I think we'll keep Hill as a trade piece for next season while we continue looking at Tarik Black as well as further evaluating Sacre and Kelly. I think Sacre will be let go and we'll fit his spot as well as Wes Johnson's role with rookie contracts. I think we can get a rotation role player with Hou 1st Rd Pick and our 2nd Rd Pick.

Wayne looks like he'd be a cheap resigning and Boozer would be great to keep for Randle's development.

Clarkson / (Mo Williams/Jameer Nelson) / (Tyus Jones)
(Wes Matthews) / (Wayne Ellington)
Bryant / Young / (Dekker/Hollis-Jefferson)
Randle / (Carlos Boozer) / Kelly
(Karl Towns) / (Jordan Hill) / Black

I think this team could get into the playoffs and in 2-3 years be a serious force in the West. I think Clarkson will continue to develop as well as Randle and our top 5 pick. I actually have faith Clarkson, Randle and our top 5 pick will become all stars for us down the road. I think this squad has a good balance of youth and vet presence.
2014: Randle / Clarkson
2015: Russell / Nance
2016: Ingram / Zubac
2017: Top 3 Pick? Fultz, Ball or Bust

Well looks like Lin is chipping away at his future contract value with the Lakers. I'm a bit peeved that BS is telling Lin to tone down the PnRs despite it working really well for the most part, but then i'm not surprised one bit since it's helping us win games and we cant have that! I dunno why Lin's outside shot is so broken, most of his shots are clean looks. Combine that with him not finishing at the rim like he usually does and we get a dreadful stretch of shooting nights like this. Well at least he's trying hard on defense, he's a great help defender and is an excellent blocking PG, but still need to work on PnR defense scheme but thats mostly on the coaching staff.

at each position if you could only choose one, who would you pick?

jclark vs jlin
wayne vs jabari/nick - including jabari for lack of options
wes vs nick
kelly vs booz vs hill
davis vs black vs sacre

personally id take:

jclark-obviously has better potential and self motivation/hunger/drive than lin. i see them as similar type of players.
wayne- not sure if he has always played this way but he seems to be an all around kinda guy with a nice shooting touch. i think jabari has similar game but i just havent seen a lot of him yet.
nick- for lack of better option though i think he's quite underperformed this year... wes has really been disappointing... i think he may have reached his ceiling.
hill- the way he has developed this year feels like he's better as a pf. though i miss his hustle and rebounds before when he wasnt too fond of his jumper
davis- again i think he is similar with black, although both may be a bit short for their position, i choose him over black because i think he has better potential. could be like an ibaka lite lite. lol.

...but i wouldnt want anyone of these guys starting.

davis and jclark maybe. that said i would really want to improve that 3 spot thru free agency.

jclark/jlin
kobe/wayne
butler/swag
randle/hill
davis/towns

for our reserves i think kelly and sacre remain in the books. id maybe resign jlin, and then we'll have our other draft picks to complete the bench.

in 2016 scooch butler to the 2 spot and place durant in the 3 spot.

sorry for the lengthy post i have too much free time at the moment. lol.

I don't want to see a scenario where Jordan Hill is back. I like the guy a lot as a person but his game just did not take off like anyone expected when they overpaid him and opened up minutes. Chucking mid range jumpers and failing on help defense is not a great recipe.

I think the two players that played themselves into a return in the frontcourt are Davis and Black. Davis has been excellent since the ASB, putting in 10/8 with a decent block total in under 30 mins. Black has been very good and apart from the hustle he's shown signs of some upside if we can teach him into finishing off pick and rolls. I'd retain both and if the price is right, bring back Ellington and Lin while dumping Swaggy P.

Good luck in finding a taker for Swaggy P and to fill the SF depth chart.

You don't have to fill all the spots in one offseason. If the Sixers are still riding the pony train, we can dump him with picks 34 & 55.

i dont disagree with anything you said at all, and yeah i dont get why Hill lurks too far out in the perimeter. but i still think he could be a solid role player for us behind randle. his stats have improved every year, although considering the circumstance... but still he has the skills to be somewhat of a threat offensively and is a decent rebounder. i for one did not expect him to have a blowout year but rather thought his 9m was some sort of trade chip. for half the price or less i wont mind him back but for 9m i will pass on him for sure.
