We might have trouble scoring inside , outside of assisted lobs and put backs but still, I could be totally down with this. He's young too which is a basic requirement for me. Someone whose a vet who can help Towns along but is still young enough to be fully relevant long after Melo fades.

And you might still have enough to get a decent wing also. Danny Green is always spoken of, so was Matthews before injury. Ill throw out a name also that might be affordable cuz he's under the radar but has skill.....Wilson Chandler. I like Chandler cuz it seems there are two types of expensive players. The bonafide stars and then for some reason lately, the emerging role player. Wilson is neither. He's everything he will ever be and it'll be affordable and risk free for the most part.

Calderon
Chandler
Melo
Towns
Jordan

You get as far as you can and then upgrade at pg in 2016.

Like many here - I am a KAT convert. Was firmly in the "if you get #1 you have to take OK4" camp but this kid Towns is going to be good!

If I had the pick I'd take him over everyone else.

I like Towns better. I think he is better for New York too.

I'm not gonna worry about Towns or Okafor until the lotto and I know the Knicks got the first pick.

First he shouldn't have to be closing out on shooters he's a center.. how many times do you remember Shaq closing out on shooters? and second he was lost quite a bit in the first half but none of that was necessarily his fault it was because of the poorly coached zone they were playing. They only got back into the game when they stuck to man to man defense in the second half.

 Lack of fire?? Yeah it's called conserving energy because you're too busy trying to carry your team while your teammates daydream.

One thing that's always puzzled me on this forum is why do you post so much stuff from the same reporters you claim don't know schit on a day to day basis? Just curious. Reporters and the media are either idiots or they're not.

This 1000x!

Towns is a better fit for the Knicks, I don't want to invest in no more Bargs/Amare type players. I'll take the hustle and potential upside all day long before I invest a top two pick on a one-trick pony......even if that one trick is on another planet. Internal will and desire makes the difference between a star and a superstar! This Knick team is not good enough to have a one-trick pony investment, we will be better with a multi-talented hard working big 100 out of 100 times than a low post only beast who can be neutralized with the right game plan, then become a liability in almost every other facet of the game. I'll take my chances with someone who has the ability to be a beast in several areas of the game before I will with a baller who's one meal ticket can't get much better since its already near its peak!

Yeah...don't think so.

At 18 or 19 years of age if you have to play half a game to carry your team then something is wrong. The fire side him should not even allow him to shut his effort down. He should be so hungry that he would be hustling back on every defensive possession..........if for nothing else but to silence his critics. It would be killing me if I was him and I couldn't shut up those who doubt me enough to lower my value.......causing me to potentially lose money.

Yeah I don't think that a 19 year old kid should be worrying in-game about potentially losing money. He never shut his effort down.. he was great tonight. Maybe he wasn't want you wanted him to be but that's not why he's playing basketball. He showed a ton of intensity going in and out of timeouts and in the huddles tonight.. as a matter of fact he was the only one who did. You guys are expecting a kid that is 6'11" 275 to run around like Tom Peabody (sorry for the obscure reference but look him up) and that's not happening.

Towns is too much of a project. It's gonna take him 3-4 years for his offensive game to develop. Okafor will be a 20ppg scorer by his second season the latest, and has real MVP potential down the road. If you get the #1 pick, you take Okafor and don't think twice.

Okafur is the "Safe pick" for a GM....I don't think he will turn out like a Cousins....but a bull inside who will get you 15 and 10 night in and night out...similar to a Zach Randolph style...
