Actually, I think if we stay at 13, we will likely end up with Looney if he is there. 6'9, 220, 12 ppg, 9 rpg, 1.4 apg, 1.3 spg, 1bpg, 45.7% from 3 all as a freshman.

9 rebounds a game as a freshman is huge. Also, to be able to hit that well from 3, being a freshman big PF is pretty remarkable.

Looney sustained a facial injury yesterday against USC, and might not make it back for the rest of the PAC 12 tourney. There is an outside chance this could impact his draft position, but not likely.

He's actually playing with a faceguard.

I look for players who do things that not many others can, really that's what a star turns out to be.

Size For Position and Foreign Players tend to be the overachievers in the draft.

Porzingis, Caulie-Stein, Wood are the front court players I'd look to target.

He's from Kentucky so McD most likely has him in his top 5 ladder board lol.

But if McD does draft him... I think it means one of Bledsoe OR Knight is going to be packaged out for a trade, maybe along the Morris twins.

If Cousins is off the table..

Then trade with Bulls for Mirotic and McDermott.... but salary matching is a struggle.

You can only take Booker if you are certain Goodwin will be a 1 imo.

ESPN's take on Booker is strange.

Booker isn't a great athlete and doesn't necessarily bring a lot of other elite skills to the table, but his shot is so pure that more and more scouts are talking about him as the best shooter in the draft.

Let's look at McDonough's types:

Special Athletes - Green, Plumlee, Bledsoe, Wright, Len, Goodwin
Underrated Shooters - Knight, Morris, Morris, Warren, Thomas, Tolliver

We're always commenting that we don't have players who pass, move off ball, defend, leadership and that's because so far McD has his type and sticks with it.

We'll see how it goes.

I'd like us to get Brandon Ashley personally. Although that's assuming we address adding another guard in FA.

Haven't really watched NCAA this yr so far, mostly highlights and a game here and there.
Looking forward to tonites game, Bobby Portis could be a realistic target for us, (if Lyles or WCS sinks to our range I'b be happy with them as well) and in the second round wouldn't mind Dakari Johnson. Also wondering how Poythress fell of the face of the earth, and if a team like us will take a chance on him in the 2nd round.

I won't count Morris bros as McD's types but I agree with you. McD is looking for raw players with big upside. It looks like a smart thing to do but most people on this board would probably prefer older, already developed players without any upside left that would lead us to a promised land of 8th spot.

Kaminsky showed up big today and got the Badgers the win in the Big 10 Championship game. Overcame a big deficit too. if he can add some strength and learn to finish inside he should be a complete player. His repertoire of post moves looks pretty good considering how little he uses them. Wisconsin's swing ofense operates on having their bigs relocating to the perimeter and having their guards inverting to the post, so he could easily translate his game to a Stretch 4. Not saying he's the next Dirk, but there's promise

Kaminsky would be a good fit for us. I think he can be on the floor with Len or Kieff.
SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

How do you like our draw BW? Looking forward to getting some payback on Wisconsin.

Yeah, perhaps a revenge on Wisconsin could help, but we have to get there first. I am always worried. Before the bracket, you (or just maybe me) think you can move on, but we have played crap teams in conference, so I hope we are prepared for these guys. The first team we play beat Michigan St on the road as well as K St who we barely beat on a neutral court, but I looked at the rest of their games, and they got blown out by most other teams close to our caliber so they were probably just overlooked. Baylor played a much tougher conference schedule than us, so who knows?

What I do like about this team more than any other AZ team heading into the tourney....every time we face a tough team and it is a close game, they rise to the occasion. And also, they are playing by far their best basketball right now. The only fear I have is their offensive lapses and, against a team with depth, getting into foul trouble. If we can avoid those two things we can beat anyone.

Even if we face Kentucky, if we can stay out of foul trouble, we could have a chance. Our perimeter D isn't as good as our interior D but with Stanley and RHJ guarding guys out there as well as McConnell they should be good.

Also, I love that Stanley Johnson won four state championships in hs...he willed his team to win...you have to have noticed....when he is at the line near the end of game he always pulls through. I just think he is a winner. He beat Gordon in a championship when he was a jr and Gordon was a sr.

I feel better about this team than any in a very long time....probably since Gardner/Arenas/Jefferson/Wright/Woods and Walton.

Maybe a NY, LA, Sacramento could look to trade their pick 3 or 4.

Big risk though for McD, how does he get another contract if that pick doesn't perform straight away.

I think there is zero truth to that and I've been reading this board for 5 or 6 years. The posters here value potential just as much as anyone.
