This is pretty much rock bottom. We somehow look like we're back to the Josh Smith era.

Perfect for tanking really.

I'm not trying to flame or anything, just a serious question. What happened? There was a lot of excitement around SVG becoming coach. Even as far back as a few weeks ago a lot of Pistons fans were gearing up for a playoff push. Now ten losses in a row. I haven't been keeping up, but what went wrong?
After Rose broke both his knees, I gave up on the hope that we'd make it to the NBA Finals again. It will probably be decades before we see another championship. Hello Treadmill, here we come.

It's the shoes!

This is NOT rock bottom. Remember when people were putting their hope in Jerebko as a future star here? Yeah... I think this team has gone on cruise control after realizing the playoffs are out of reach. Honestly, one of our biggest issues is that guys just aren't hitting shots. KCP has gone ice cold, along with Tolliver, Meeks (been cold all season), Butler, and just about everyone else. Our other big problem is defense but our defense was pretty darn good during certain stretches of games earlier in the season with subpar defensive talent. I'm confident SVG can get this team to play good defense. We also will be looking at a high lottery pick, enough capspace to add a major piece, potentially tons of internal growth (Dre, RJ, KCP, draft pick), and a healthy Jennings. SVG turned this team around on a dime after the Smith trade. I'm confident he will turn it around again with another offseason and training camp with the roster he wants.

I think this is all a blessing in disguise tho before the Jennings injury we were playing really good and looked like a legit team but it was still going to be hard to make the playoffs and we would of probably at best been eliminated in the 1st round. At least now we get a real good draft pick with a bunch of capspace and a chance to start over next season. Maybe we will get lucky for once and win the draft lottery.

I agree. I'm excited about keeping RJ for cheap with him struggling (hopefully off the bench), Jennings coming back, Dinwiddie continuing to grow, and Drummond as well. Not really worried about losing Monroe, but SVG having the mentality to release Josh Smith and go after a trade like the RJ trade give me confidence in his moves going forward. Definitely not rock bottom.

Yeah. Could be a huge silver lining. There is some really good talent high in the draft it seems.

Iam actually excited,if we lose enough we will secure a high pick and have a ton of options moving forward with or without moose.I also have the upmost confidence in stan that he can get us competeing as soon as next year. The future hasant looked so bright as a piston fan.

Yeah I actually think we are in a good situation right now. Stan did jeopardize the season with the Reggie trade but we weren't going anywhere anyways but it did prove that the man is a great coach with the right personnel. He will have a top 10 pick and a lot of cash to build back up the team in the offseason to his liking and I could definitely see us making a nice playoff push next season.

I was praying for SVG to come here but even I'm over this season!

And I was a fan during the Teal Error!

We have obvious needs so I'm not gonna bang on about them, I'm just happy SVG has the cap space available to pursue players he chooses.

High praise to some of the players, SVG & his staff and Gores. Finally we're moving in the right direction

The season can't and will not end before the Pistons start a meaningless April winning streak and ruin our draft pick position, its a great tradition.

I wouldn't mind if Dre missed the next two games just to play it safe with concussion. We'll lose at Memphis anyways, but I really want to lose that Philly game the net night.

We have to get to 29 wins somehow!

But yes, I have zero investment in the rest of this season. Reggie Jackson has proved he would not be a boon for this team. Drummond will not miss time with a concussion. Moose has remained steady, but the rest of the cast has been a complete let down.

This isn't rock bottom. Last season's team was much more unlikable with Smith and Jennings basically chucking up everything. But, I've still lost interest in how this season will finish.

This season has been brutal with the lows at the start , the highs in the middle , and the lows at the end. Hopefully we'll keep up the loses at this point. Two things have made this season bareable for me ,free everquest , and the start of baseball season.

I'm sure the team is better than this. They are just tanking to get a decent pick. I think we have been realistically out of the playoff hunt for a couple weeks now so we really don't have any reason to win games anymore.

Rock bottom is this offseason when we sign Reggie to a 4/$56 million deal.

Yep. Rumor has it SVG has SVG on a short leash.

I get wanting a better draft pick, but it's just not in my DNA to root against the team. I try to avoid game threads during times like this and the no-longer-clever "tank commander" threads and quips. I'll look in on some games, but I've lost a lot of interest with the playoffs out of sight.

I suppose another thing left is to look for improvement in guys like Jackson and KCP as they try to figure it out. But, in general, I'm ready for it to be over. Tough season.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy
