Still think the bigs go first in the draft.

WCS has the athleticism that Towns and Okafor lack.

Retired_Doc wrote:As many of you know I was on the Towns wagon for quite a few months and considered him a better pick than OK4. And I still do. BUT WCS sure had one fantastic tourney. If he plays like this in the next several games he COULD pass both Towns and OK4 by.

If I had to go out on a limb here, let me predict this: More than likely (and barring a major upset) we are gonna see Wisconsin play KY in the final four. Depending upon who (if anyone) stops Kaminsky, and depending upon whether KY wins and who for UK steps up big, then we might know where Towns and WCS are gonna be picked in the draft.

So that's down the road apiece. But right now WCS outplayed every single player in the SEC tourney including Towns.

And here is yet another possible scenario: Kaminsky. Other than the poster god4gives and myself, everyone here has Kaminsky being picked somewhere between 12 and 15. I strongly disagree. IF Kaminsky has a great game against UK and if Wisc wins, Kaminsky could fly up the charts. WCS is the only Wildcat who can stop Kaminsky. Towns cannot.

One of the teams that can give Kentucky problems is Wisconsin. Many judge Kaminsky's performance in last year's final four lost and say that WCS didn't even play. This year is a different year and Frank just keeps on improving. If they meet up again, I'm sure Kaminsky is gonna be well prepared. He went up against Purdue's two giants A.J. Hammons & Isaac Haas. A.J. Hammons is 7 ' 0" & 260 pounds averaging 3 blocks and 12 ppg. Isaac Haas is 7 ' 2" & 295 pounds averaging 1 block & 8 ppg. Frank shut both of them down in the second half and it's not the first time he played well against those two. It's good practice for him if he goes up against WCS & Towns who are better. I like Karl Towns defense and his offensive versatility is still raw and progressing. I wish his game was as ripe as Frank's on the offensive end.

I don't care what none of these guys in these forums and some mock draft websites say. Kaminsky will be in the top 10 for sure.

good article on Mudiay and D'angelo, its a great time to be a Knicks fan. Hopefully we stay in the top 4.

"They are both going to be franchise players," said an NBA scout, who spoke to The Inquirer on condition of anonymity. "There's no bad pick between the two."

What I will admit to is the last time I debated the value of 2 "similar level" guys (at the time of course, obviously not now) TW was 100% right and I was way off. So...I may put the pressure on TW again and say I agree with whatever he says we should pick.

You remember which 2 guys right TW?

Let's say the Kings drafted WCS and we had Towns. Phil knows we need multiple assets --- maybe we move Towns/Calderon for WCS/Collison/McLemore and future 1st from Kings.

We come out of the trade with a starting C and a new starting back-court. We add 2 more pieces in FA -- lets say we sign Monroe and T-Harris.

Collison/Galloway
McLemore/THJ
Melo/T-Harris
Monroe
WCS

At least in this scenario -- we are adding to our depth without spending on older FAs and we'd probably be leaving enough room to add a MAX player in 2016 and we'd also have a 2016 pick from Kings.

Not sure it's a great plan but one example.

It's a very good plan, Johnny, but there are two problems: I'm not at all sure the Kings would take Calderon and I'm not so sure they would hand us their 2016 first rounder. They would sure have to consider Towns three times the player WCS is, and frankly Towns is not three times the player WCS is.

Agreed but on this board you have to leverage the deal completely in the Knicks favor in order to get it past Knicks fan. If I posted a fair trade --- 99% of the board would be in an uproar.

I agree - only way Kings do that is if they feel Towns is the answer man to pair with Cousins -- you never know.

I can't see us taking him under any circumstance. Take and trade, sure; but not take and keep. Doesn't fit system at all. You take Russell, Mudiay, Porzingis, Hezonja, Johnson, etc...

  of course. The fact that you suspended me, the only time I got suspended, because we got so heated about Klay vs Marshon is hilarious to see now. We're all wrong on some guys (I got caught up Jimmertime a bit then too thinking hed be a poor mans Curry) but that is classic. I didnt even think Klay would be THIS good or Marshon would be out of the league already. I had Brooks as a nice 6th man.

Im fine with either Karl or Jah this year. We got a 50% shot at either. Soured on Russell a bit but hes a great consolation and Im sure Mudiay will be a workout warrior. All 4 are cool with me. I still have Towns first for now but Jah is close behind, so the tourney could change things. Towns needs to step up though. No more 15 minute foul-a-thons.

If Kaminsky ends up being ROY next year most of you folks are going to look quite foolish.

Worst yet, you will all have to admit god4gives was right. Ouch, dat gonna hoit! :o :o

I'll bookmark this post. I highly doubt it, Kaminsky just seems like another college kid who hit the ceiling. He'll be Channing Frye in the NBA.

For whatever that site is worth, Jahlil Okafor could indeed probably fall to the #3 pick if the situations leading to the draft aligned themselves. If Minny lands #1 and they are in love with Towns as some say they do, and Philly gets #2 and gets a PG, the team that ends up as the #3 in the lottery could have Okafor fall straight to its lap. Crazy enough it could happen.

yep. if philly gets a top 2 pick, they're taking the guard of their dreams, which they say is mudiay.

I wouldn't trust a leak like that this early.

The guards are nice but if Embiid is healthy then a Towns/Embiid frontcourt could be one for the ages, and if Embiid isn't healthy then Towns merely pairs up with Noel which is also very nice. They could always trade Noel if they really wanted. It's a tough call though because I'm not sure what kind of guard they would get for Noel, plus trading big for small is always frowned upon, so just snatching a guard now makes sense if they go for need.

The bigs are locked into 1 and 2 to me barring some insane Dangelo tourney outburst, but VCU is going to cause some havoc for him. Mudiay looks like he'll be a stronger/more athletic MCW (aka Tyreke), at least in the beginning.

I got the Wolves taking Towns if they get that top pick or trading back for stein. They need a young defensive big badly. Better hope these dudes don't jump us

Unless Phil has hit the senile phase (like Berlusconi with AC Milan & Politics) good thing would happen for the Knicks!!

We have a top pick, Melo, and 65M to continue our quest for a ring (and a lot of superstars in the next three FA) #Leggo

That's what I'm interested in most. Unlike last offseason where he literally had to scrape from the bottom of the barrel and had no room to make any decisive moves outside of Melo, I'm really looking forward to seeing what players he chooses and how he recruits players.

We haven't seen that yet, and deep down I know the man has a good eye for great talent and team chemistry.

yep im glad you brought this, you see we dont know who we are going to get in FA history has shown that unless you get an all star in FA you are not going anywhere. Minny does not need scoring from Towns the knicks need scoring so they will have to draft Ok4. This guy will be like what Duncan did for Robinson for Melo and he is averaging more points than Shaq and Duncan were doing in college even though they were the main men for their respective teams
