Fair enough. Though, I believe that we are in the same camp that believes Shelvin is a fringe NBAer and wouldn't have brought him back. If we had (do) ship out Teague...I want a veteran PG to help groom Dennis. Jameer Nelson, Devin Harris, Andre Miller being my top choices in order.

My biggest concern: once we identify that DS is indeed a capable replacement at PG moving forward, I don't want to lose Teague for nothing. he's one of the top players on the team, letting him walk away for nothing would be foolish. Especially since top Free Agents have snubbed us for years and we have had plenty of misfires in the draft.

I think Shelvin is a solid rotational guy. I definitely don't want him starting any amount of games, but I think he's carved himself a nice role as a Jarrett Jack type of guy where he can come in off the bench and run the team for 10-12 minutes without hurting you. The ability to do that is honestly pretty underrated.

I don't think we'll lose Teague for nothing. I think it's much more likely that we resign him long term and make sure he is a Hawk for life, and that we ask Dennis to come off the bench as a superstar 6th man a la Manu/Harden.

Jeff Teague is going to be our Tony Parker. Still only 26 too.

Shelvin Mack is a top backup point guard in the league talent. If you are much better than Mack then you probably arent a backup. There is nothing fringe about what he has made himself into.
