Oh, the joy and chastity it would bring. *swoon*

They said they aren't interested in bringing him in right now

"Tim Tebow didn't sign a deal with the Philadelphia Eagles during his visit on Monday, but it could happen if they manage to trade Matt Barkley.

Barkley hasn't played well in limited action, but he was at one point a top prospect at quarterback.

Tebow would almost certainly be the Eagles' third-string quarterback if signed behind Sam Bradford and Mark Sanchez."

Plus they've given Lynch a big raise and are going to give Wilson a huge contract.

Hoping they lose Wagner too.

I wouldn't go so far as to say he's their best defensive player, but he's their most important DL for sure, and arguably their most important front-seven guy (Wagner is very important, as evidenced by the team's performance when he was out).

Sherman talked Bennett into taking less money to sign with the Hawks, then turned around and pushed for the biggest DB contract in the league (at the time). I wonder if that pissed Bennett off. I'd be irritated as hell if one of my buddies encouraged me to do something for the team, then signed a contract that paid him almost twice what I accepted.

Was there that much money for Bennett out there when he was a FA? I remember a couple of teams showing interest and I think one of teams made an offer that was a bit better than what Seattle eventually gave him. But I don't remember there being any teams out there willing to throw big money at him.

When he first came to Seattle, there wasn't. But he revived his career in that one year.

And then he signed an extension while other players on that team signed bigger extensions.

He continued to play well. Especially in the SB, through like 3 quarters, he was looking like the MVP, until NE came back.

I'm sure he sees what Suh got and figured he could be getting a lot more.

I was referring to the time when he signed that extension with Seattle. A couple of teams showed interest in him, but I don't remember any big offers out there.

I hope we are inquiring....

I like Waynes and Peters... but I would make a play for Milliner....

Also I do like and trust Dontae to become a solid player for us. So I won't be damn if we don't

I'm not sure. I thought he signed before FA opened, but the ESPN article I'm reading both says they prevented him from becoming a FA, but also that he got two offers for more money. When was the tampering period initiated?

Uh oh Matt, you'd better make sure you renew Bingo's restraining order if you get traded to the Niners. :D

It was the Chicago Bears that wanted him. Suppposedly, they were offering him a little more money than Seattle gave him. The Raiders were the only other team mentioned. He either signed before the FA period or right when it started. Maybe had he pressed forward in FA there would have been better offers forthcoming

Albert Breer:

2 things killing Crabtree in free agency: 1) Coaches in SF felt lower-leg injuries really slowed him down; 2) Perception about his attitude.

He really looked slow on film. He couldn't seem to beat anyone one on one. A guy with world class speed can lose a little speed and still be okay. Crabtree wasn't fast to begin with so losing a little speed really hurts him.

Crabtree didn't rely that much on his speed when he had the best seasons.

He'd do these little underneath crossing patterns and get good RAC.

I remember a couple of occasions including one in the red zone where they ran that little slant under two WRs running clear out routes and Kap just missed him, he would have walked in for the TD.

A lot of the decline in production is due to Kap, who tends to look for Boldin first.

But the coaches didn't seem to call as many plays where he was the primary target as in previous season either.

True, he was never a speed guy. But if he is even slower now because of his leg injuries, that would have an effect on his play. He is not a bug WR that wrestles away balls from DB.

****, I guess the 49ers are more classy than the Bears. Big whoop, class.

I think Crabtree can be pretty physical and good at contesting for the ball. Not the best, like Dez Bryant or Calvin Johnson obviously but he has big hands, is not a smaller WR.

Of course everyone is going to remember that he couldn't get the ball against Sherman but there are few WRs in the league who could high-point the ball against Sherman consistently. Also the ball was not perfectly thrown.

Tim Tebow has been signed by the Eagles. "Tebow Watch 2015" has officially begun.

Now if someone could only convince Philly to do this year's Hard Knocks. Can you guys even imagine how hilarious it would be to watch 5 weeks of slo-mo Tim Tebow montages, set to NFL Films muzak? It would be far more entertaining than any summer blockbuster action flick, that's for sure.
