Sucks that Kyle and Thompson are both out, both are focal points to their respective teams. Gonna be tough in the Oracle, but if we win, then we establish ourselves as the undisputed best team in the NBA.

Well done game thread. Maybe a more real analogy is how the EWOKS play on their home floor. GSW is REAL good at home and real good on D. The "odd thing" is that they usually did not get big stats from the SF's.. and this game Iggy and Barnes EACH probably had their best game of the year. I reckon if that surprised me...it REALLY caught the Hawks by surprise. GSW gets a bit reckless on turnovers.. yet still can do okay. Hawks.....Will find the Cavs a tough match but will whup any other east team. Cavs are still trying to work as a TEAM....will be tougher next year.

Seriously... Teague played like ****, Horford played like ****, Schoeder played like ****. And everyone here talks about Bazemore?

Yeah he was terrible but blame it on your third string wing?

On offense I couldn’t score. I take the blame.

Spoken like a true leader. No excuses. Taking full responsibility...even though we all know that wasn't the case.

God, I love this kid.

Regarding the game...it happens on along road trip in a grinding season.

That was more a funny inside joke between me and ATLHAWKS , we argued earlier in the week and he said Bazemore was "Amazing". I was just teasing him.

WE lost the game for 3 reasons IMO:
1) AH shooting 18 shots, and making 4? That is the antithesis of Al Horfords game. Hes very efficient and 18 shots on this team means something was wrong.

2) GSW played lights out. Suffocating defense, 14 triples, Iggy and Barnes were just lethal all night. They out hustled and out played us.

3) DS and Bazemore turning the ball over at crucial moments. We had spots where we were chipping away and then DS would put his head down and drive the lane throwing up some wild shot off the glass that would turn into a 3 the other way. Bazemore made some bad Turn Overs at well in crucial moments.

Having said that, missing Korver and Scott is a big deal, but not 20 pt blow out IMO. GSW was missing Klay and that is just as key a piece for them. We could have played better.

THeir Bigs DARED AL to shoot and he couldnt hit. That is the weak point of this team. Same for GSW, if your SF/PF cant hit their outside shots, good luck. All GSW did was stack the paint and we dont lpay well against long athletic teams with a rim protector.

Come on PK. Why must you sensationalize everything. I never said Bazemore was "amazing".

What I did say is his deal is amazing. I would love to see you make a list of players, who aren't on rookie deals. who provide what Bazemore provides for $2 million or less.

Bazemore provides very good defense (can guard 1-3), near 40% overall 3 pt shooting, 48% 3 pt shooting from the corner, highlight dunks/plays which energize the crowd and team and that's just his on-court production. I would say he's worth the $2 million for his off-court presence alone. He has made an obvious impact on our bench's involvement from the sidelines. I have also read in several different interviews where he has helped bring every one even closer together with his always happy and friendly attitude.

Generalizing dude, Im old i dont remember every particular posts wording. You guys have to stop being so literal. He was amazing, his deal is amazing, whatever same thing. you get the point it was an inside joke between me and you.

FTR I actually like bazemore as well, but, theres 100 guys like him in the NBA. he gets paid about right IMO

Well last night he was our starting wing which is the problem. He was simply trying to too much that lead to out right turnovers and shots that were basically turnovers. Schroder too. Teague had some impressively bad turnovers in the third, but once a team is pressing to make a comeback, that's what happens.

But again, whatever. With both teams healthy we won. With both teams injured, they won. They are deeper than us...not a big deal. We still are going to win the conference, get a lottery pick and hopefully be healthy come playoff time...literally the only things that matter at this point.

Rough game. Horford and Schroder with their worst games of the season, and Draymond Green was making 3s like Korver out there. Not to mention Barnes and Iguodala going a combined 20-25. It happens....we just need to get healthy. Warriors are a great team.

Bazemore (atl) and Holiday(GSW) started for injured ALL STARS...and Baze-Holiday were undrafted walk ons.

Whatever. The THING is GSW is very good on D and just NASTY at home. I expected a GSW win but closer. If you said Barnes and Iggy would be GSW's top scorers..I'd say you were drunk. This one MATTERED to GSW.. they played a bit lazy against some crap teams...but beating the HAWKS.. was a big deal. GSW's DEFENSE... was just SUPER. They do good D but for the Hawks.. they were VERY up for it. The game does not hurt ATL's spot on top of the east. It is a Statement if GSW and ATL do meet for the NBA title-and GSW has "home". If GSW keeps Home edge... they can win the whole enchilada. Most teams are best at home but GSW this year? EXTREME good at home.

So... I won't be surprised if it's GSW-ATL for NBA champs. Y'all best hope by then you got HOME court.

It was a surprise for BOTH the SF guys to score 20+..that GSW played great D.. no surprise. GSW wanted this win. They were not gonna think Atlanta was EASY. GSW and ATL are 2015 era...Solid team fundamentals. Depth, Balance-DEFENSE. Nobody thought EITHER would be #1 seed....but that's what's apt to happen.

You seem to be giving this game far too much credence. GSW won't be getting easy dunks when Thabo is playing in place of Shelvin Mack. GSW won't be able to crowd the driving lanes when Korver and Scott are making it rain from 3. The Hawks were without 3 of their top 8 players in this one. Horford had his worst shooting night of the season. Playoffs games at GSW will be tough, but they aren't unwinnable. You will see a much different Hawks team if they face each other in the Finals.
