A series win would mean a lot to the younger guys on our roster. I'd love to see that happen after so much adversity. Based on the last couple games, we need Beasley and TJ to start bringing it. Beasley has been okay so far, his defense has been good at times, but his offense is inefficient, especially compared to what we saw from him last year. We need TJ to evolve and carve out some playing time, because we need someone to come in and contribute when Mario starts heading south. If those two guys get it together consistently, we become a much different team.

I noticed Spo made a nice adjustment and had TJ defend Lilliard when Dragic was on the bench instead of Chalmers. I think TJ is developing a defensive rapport with the coaches especially against quick PG's (not a strength of Napier or Chalmers).

TJ is struggling a bit on offense lately but it is nice to have an option when Wario comes to play instead of Mario.

We've got less than 20 games left, I hope we really start to carve out our playoff roster right now. Right now, I think both Beasley and TJ are surviving because they can play capable defense. That'll keep them in games until their offense because dependable. I don't have super high hopes, but I think this team could come together at the right time, and that'd be nice to see.

Beasley has always been an inside then outside scorer. If he gets his close game going, he really starts to get into a flow. That's what his mindset has always been as a scorer. Once he has established a rhythm, he is so good offensively. He depends on getting into that flow as much as anybody I can remember. I don't think we've been putting him in the best position to benefit from that so far. I'd like to see him getting it close to the basket early on, and then let him open his game up. Warm up the Beasley.

Well, if you noticed the last two games, Spo had a tight and effective rotation with Dragic, Wade, Deng, Haslem, Whiteside, Chalmers, Beasley and Birdman. Then based on the match-up, he played a 9th man going with Walker (against LeBron) and TJ (against Lilliard). The only issue is Dragic and Deng are playing over 38 mpg the last couple of games. Maybe against lesser opponent, Spo will loosen the rotation a bit to lower minutes but expect to see more of the same in close games until the end of the season.

Well Dragic also had 10 assists less than a month ago against Philadelphia...

Luol has been playing a lot, and I hope that Beasley can take some of those minutes away. Luol has been a workhorse his whole career. He consistently logs major minutes. Pretty admirable.

A lot of things could improve based on two players taking minutes from our starters. Dragic and Deng playing 35 a night would be helpful, especially if we get into more than one series. I'm not sold on Walker yet, so hopefully TJ and Beas figure it out. Creating depth in your bench is necessary. A solid 9 man rotation is on our roster, we just have to get experienced.

It's kinda crazy to think that Luol Deng is actually younger than LeBron James

I remember it well. Luol Deng was ranked 2nd in his high school class, behind Lebron James.

Important win and probably the best game of the season.

Always great to hear positive things said about coaching & Eric Spoesltra. Though, unfortunately, it's mainly after victories.

Spo has made excellent adjustements and when they work his a genius - but the effectiveness of his strategies are also a result of his guys playing well.....since we've achieved a level of consistency and continuity recently that we have lacked throughout the season we also improve as a team and individually. It's not always about coaching folks. So for now the critics are hushed.
If u don't want 2b here, the way things work, u don't like it, then don't b here. U have 2 stand on something. If Miami ain't standing on something, they become alot of these organizations trying 2 find their identity. This is the culture, bro -Wade

Unfortunately that's not how it works around here for the most part. When we win, that's what we were supposed to do, and when we lose, its all the coaches fault because [fill in the blank].

But yeah, what an awesome game that was. I'm rooting for this team to make the playoffs and make some noise, let Philly have the stupid pick. I pointed out to some troll Sixers fan on the general board that the #14 pick in the draft is a bust like 80% of the time anyways (and same for the 13 and 15 or whatever slot they end up with, basically). I'll take our situation over theirs any day, even if they do hit on one of these picks one day, they'll be surrounded by losers and young guys that want to make a payday who Philly can't afford.

i used to post on the official nba heat board & it was saturated w/ Spo bashers. Every loss they want to lynch him, after wins it's crickets.

I agree about losing our pick to make the playoffs. I'm a Riley supporter and have always liked his approach of adding veterans - when you add veterans the way he likes to do it's a win now strategy and i like that.....we need to do that to surround Wade w/ talent before he retires. One more title and then we can develop all the damn youngens people like i don't care.

Let me just add that you can't sell your team as a "winning organization" if all you are doing is playing for draft picks. Free agents notice this when choosing a destination. It is one of the reasons Dragic is on the team despite our record. He saw a winning organization not a team in shambles like the Lakers (who I think will turn it around eventually), Phoenix (regardless of their above .500 record has no clear plan) or the Knicks. The Heat organization, from top to bottom are on the same page just like you see it in San Antonio or Dallas. There is a culture in place and either you are in or you are out.
