Makes you wonder - what would this team be like without Wall - or even with a league average replacement for him? I think the answer would be depressing.
With Wall on the floor, they're +5.3 per 100 possessions -- the quality of a 55-win team over an 82-game schedule.
Without Wall on the floor, they're -9.0 per 100 possessions -- the quality of a 19-win team over an 82-game schedule.
That said, Wall is good, but this is also an indictment of not just his backups, but the rest of the bench as well.
Thanks for that. I had a discussion with DCZards a few months ago about this...essentially this team ain't poo without Wall, and he's the reason the team is competitive. Without him, they are clearly a lottery team. He disagreed.
