u do it????

yeah

I would

Gay isn't one of my favorite players but in a triangle system with Cousins and Melo its hard to imagine many teams that could guard that trio

we would need some real leadership though

Melo, Cousins and Gay all have the tendency to get a little tunnel vision

Very true, maybe we sign david west with the remainder of cap. he would provide leadership and toughness.

we would need a better pg too

gallaway
gay
melo
west
cousins

bench:
hardaway
schved
bargs
amundson
?

since its just a fantasy anyway Id say we play

Galloway
Shved
Gay
Melo
Cousins

and truly run the triangle

Its the hero ball and the emotional lack of control that worries me

we would need someone to stabilize them. West has a little of that emotional lack of control that worries me.

Id be looking for someone to calm them the hell down and run smart plays
Im not sure who that is. Tony Parker of course. Beverly perhaps after his experience in Hou. i don't know if Steve Blake could handle it. Vasquez?

As a Raptors fan, I love seeing these trade ideas. Rudy Gay and Carmelo Anthony on the same team? Thats perfect for us.

In all seriousness, why are the Knicks not going to just rebuild through the draft and smart free agency choices? Draft Okafor.... sign Danny Green, resign Bargnani and get one more lotto pick next year and then go after another max free agent in 2016.

How do you know they aren't? Do you think the folks here work for Phil?

Potential Big 3 me and my Boys have discussed

Post#1926 » by Radio Rahim » Fri Mar 20, 2015 9:55 pm

Melo being the staple...do we focus on pairing him with a frontline that can play d and rebound or a more offensive firepower focus. None of us are in love with Monroe but he fits and if this is his production after a big deal I can deal with him if we pair him with a defensive minded center. I love the idea of Russell keeping defenses honest and potentially being the heir apparent to Melo as he gets up there in age. Monroe serving as hopefully a poor mans Bosh.

Melo, Greg Monroe & Karl Towns

Or

Melo, Greg Monroe & Russell.

You guys have probably already discussed this but I haven't posted in a while and figured I'd check in.

I rather have Towns over Russell, but for a big 3 that has to include Monroe, I think it's better to balance out the lineup with a great guard.

Voted Team Towns because it looks better in the Triangle when you figure adding Durant the following year. Thats a Dynasty.

Both teams suck. Why? Because Monroe.

Replace Monroe with love and I'll take choice number 1.

Could add a couple other scenarios to bring on different players for the pole but this is one of the most realistic and has great chance of being a Dynasty. The core we bring in this summer will dictate our future. Best to get parts that fit Melo and the triangle with room to add Durant.

"Monroe" and "dynasty" do not belong in the same sentence unless there is a word or phrase somewhere else in the sentence that shows that it will never happen.

I'd rather draft Russell and give money to Hibbert than put Monroe on this team.

That's my thought process too. If we were able to pull another FA scoring forward then I'd probably go Towns over Russell. But I have them as 1A &1B. In the draft.

Why do you like Hibbert tho? I'm not a fan at all after the dive his career has taken and his price tag.

I don't "like Hibbert" but I'd take him over Monroe 10/10 because he can anchor a defense by himself. Putting two offensive studs next to him (Russell and Melo) and then role players will make us a playoff team next season (with a good offensive and defensive game) and allow us to remain flexible going forward. It's a win-win.

So since you like Russell #1 the bold is your first option if we get the number 1 pick right? And If Hibbert does the logical thing.. take Indy's money to stay put in Indy who are your other big man options in 2015 and 2016?
