About jackson, our offense isn't incredibly complicated so you don't need to have chris Paul-like coirt vision to run it. The fact that Reggie is a huge threat to penetrate on the pick and roll is a huge plus already.

I mean, I suppose other explanations are theoretically possible, but you know, Occam's razor and all...

You guys are hilarious.
What a crazy up and down game. first quarter was pretty free flowing, second was awful because SVG's line up choices and just the lack of depth, then Reggie and Dinwiddie take over and it's game. Prince was a beast on D in the second half. I've been pretty down on him since he came back, but when you get to see him live and helping the other guys set up on D you see his value.
I went down there with some bulls fans, so it was nice to give them a bit of a beating.

i am not going to sit here and pretend like i am a x's and o's guy, but if rookies in the nba struggle with game plans, i am sure its not because they are dumb and can't pick things up quick. There's a ton of read and reaction and players need to be in their spots for the space and offense to flow. Guys like kyle singler were very good at that.
If your looking for proof , look how long it took DJ and jennings to adjust with a training camp . They aren't dumb per bball iq

most rookie point guards struggle to run an offense, but Dinwiddie struggled at the beginning because he wasn't comfortable running the pick and roll. SVG's system really depends on the point guard being able to penetrate on the pick and roll, as that's where all the drive and kick movement begins. when Jennings was benched at the beginning of the year for augustin it was because SVG said he really liked augustin's ability to penetrate, whereas Jennings would still settle for jumpers. obviously augustin doesn't have jennings' court vision, which is why Jennings was the starter again once he made a more concerted effort to penetrate deeper into the lane.
the result? Jennings and augustin played the best basketball of their careers this season. augustin took a little more than half his shots within ten feet of the rim which is by far the most in his career. Jennings still took a lot of 3's but he also took the most shots at the rim in his career.
the point guard isn't creating 100% of the offense in SVG's system, as there are a lot of off-ball screens on the elbows and actions like that to create passing lanes to the post. the main priority of the PG in our offense is to effectively run the pick and roll. with the PG penetrating, Drummond rolling and shooters on the strong and weak side it can really put a lot of pressure on the defense.
I think that's why SVG is so high on Jackson, because he has shown that his ability to finish at the rim is much better than jennings' or DJ.
