Reggie Jackson has more oops to Dre than Jennings

Post#1 » by Blkbrd671 » Tue Mar 24, 2015 8:01 am

To be frank, i need to confirm this statistically, i don't know if they are referring to this season or overall. However it is quite obvious that Dre and RJ have a chemistry on the court. And the fact that they are friends outside it is really encouraging.

Reggie Jackson, explaining how the Pistons have welcomed him, got interrupted.

“Hey, Reggie,” Andre Drummond said with a friendly tone from a couple lockers away.

“What up, big fella?” Jackson responded.

Jackson, acquired from the Thunder just before the trade deadline, has been up-and-down in 15 games with the Pistons. He’s averaging 15.3 points, 8.3 assists and 4.8 rebounds per game with Detroit, but also 3.2 turnovers and shooting just 38.9 percent from the field and 27.5 percent on 3-pointers.But if there’s one thing Jackson has clearly done right, it’s bond with Drummond.Drummond is the franchise player, and there’s a decent case the Pistons hired Stan Van Gundy in part because he helped mold a similar player in Dwight Howard. Everything revolves around Drummond. And Jackson seems like a good fit with the budding star.

Detroit’s new point guard, despite playing fewer than half as many with Drummond this season as Brandon Jennings, has already thrown Drummond more alley-oop dunks than Jennings did. You can watch all 15:

I'm excited to see how he does after an offseason with SVG and hopefully we add more shooters to the team next season.

Too bad he has no chemistry with anyone else on the team

A little bit better passer than I thought but not great, and his offense is still garbo. Doesn't get to the line, not a good 3pt shooter, and shoots to many floaters...I'm still not impressed.

RJ has been good at finding Dre, but Jennings is better at running the whole offense.
I don't think anyone would argue that.

Will Bynum was the best at getting Drummond oops.

That's true.... But you can't complain about that connection with the franchise. He also has a really good connection with KCP.

Rj just needs to shoot threes better, that's the only thing I ask for him. If he shot threes the whole floor would open up. 2 bigs or not. he should at least shoot threes when he sees Monroe on the floor with Drummond.
You need 2-way wings, 2-way shooting bigs, and you can't allow low iq players on the court. Assist/turnover ratio is crucial. Shooting point guards are icing on the cake IF they are plus defenders.
Weaver & Casey, govern yourselves accordingly!

That says more about Jennings than RJ. Any pg should be able to hit Dre with a lob at least once a game.

RJ has to work on getting a bit deeper on some of his penetration though. It's great that he has the mid-range floater, but getting that big to commit to help will free even more room for Dre to board. He also needs to consistently move the ball to the open guy. Jennings would do that to a fault - ie to smith on the perimeter - but it paid off once we got some more shooters on the floor with him.

From December 22 to January 24 (Smith released, until Jennings' injury), the Pistons went 12-4. In fact now that I actually add it up that is EXACTLY the same win percentage as Reggie's last 4 games.

Thank you, and PLEASE CONTINUE TROLL, we all love it.

RJ attempts a lot of high risk passes... so far this hasn't been a problem... I'm intrigued by how accurate he's been on long passes... just glad to get a longer look.
