The Canucks have signed defenseman Chris Taney to a five-year contract extension.
The deal is worth $22.25 million, a source told ESPN.com's Pierre LeBrun.
"Chris has developed into an excellent NHL defenseman and is an extremely important part of our team," Canucks GM Jim Benning said Tuesday in a statement announcing the deal.
