Makes me sick to my stomach. I think Cho gets amnesty because fans obsessed with the MKG pick. And I think any negativity towards Cho is like an insult towards MKG in their eyes. But when you put it this way - 20 M in cap space and 2 first rounders - it's clear as day that it goes beyond his obsession with defense amidst a tidal wave shift towards offense throughout the league. If this were 1985 when Cho was forming his impression of basketball, we would be getting ahead instead of falling behind. The focus on defense is OK, the obsession with defense and complete absence of drafting range shooting is not OK. Anyways, he had a horrible offseason.
MKG is just fine and one of the few and only reasons we do win some games instead of losing them all. It's the horrible job Cho has done at putting the right players around MKG or better yet in between MKG and Kemba where it's been 3 years of this BS. The slightest of hope we ever had was CDR at SG when Hendo got injured last year. CDR was splashing 3s and our offense was going thru the roof. Kemba assist were up and everything. I just don't get why Cho hasn't done more to make sure his best core players are surrounded by players that'll make life easier on them and the overall team better. I could care less about how nice of a guy Hendo has been or whatever trade target doesn't have enough defense.
And I wouldn't say that MKG is a Cho pick. MKG was a consolation prize after they missed out on AD at #1 and it was the right pick because Beal and Waiters and whatever SG that can make a few 3s aren't nowhere near the difference maker MKG is to winning.
Give me a break, Cho is teflon on this site and his defense-only draft picks, MKG being the main one, are a major reason why. I think their philosophy is stack the team with defense and let the coach figure out the offense. Too bad Cliff can't hit corner 3's or catch and shoot.
