Only if WCS is available there, which is basically moot because he won't be. Also, I highly doubt Phil would be that crazy about Lawson.

If the premise is the Bull are cheap, a TPE is a non/negative factor. The premise relies on the idea the Bull won't use TPE to acquire another player (for the same reason they're trading Gibson).

I never said they needed to use the TPE. The trade would save them like what $5 mil? $6 mil? That's just next season (not counting moving away from the luxury tax).

In the East its obviously a much much easier path, teams like the Raptors and Wizards who people thought were on the rise, havent taken it to that next level and may have plateaued. Same goes for the Bulls with Rose injury problems.

We obviously have a crap team, as of now there is no doubt about that. But we can make that instant turnaround if LaMarcus or Gasol decide to sign with us. Its a definite long shot, but I feel both of them need to factor that into their situation.

If Blazers/Grizz get eliminated in the 1st round, I feel it'll increase our chance, even if it raises it from 1% to 2%

problem is, they both seem to love playing for their respective teams.

Wishful Thinking -- Phil Jackson--release Ledo Bargs and Smith

Post#2008 » by BRIGGS » Thu Mar 26, 2015 4:58 pm

One is out of shape adn the other two just need to be gone

bring up Eric Griffin Nate Wolters and Willie Reed. Two athletic defenders and a PG---get younger more athletic and lets atleast enjoy the last ten games--these guys deserve extended looks and there is no better time.

Whats going on now is ridiculous and embarrassing--Im all for the tank--but we are not getting any value out of these games which we should try to.

Okay, when you said "decent" TPE, I thought meant in value/quality and not just size.

Cool.

Willie Green? He's 33 and barely hanging on to an NBA job. You mean Willie Reed?

EDIT: and I updated the thread title...cause it's what it is.

As screwed as this sounds, I think he actually means Willie Green. Wolters is the "PG" and the other two are the "athletic defenders".

We'll have to ignore the fact that Green plays for the Magic and that the trade deadline has already passed.

I meant Reed--Reed Griffin and Wolters. We need an injection of athletic front-court defenders and a true PG. We are going to get spot 1 in the draft--nothing is changing that. But we should strive to get value out of the last ten games--guys who we may be able to go forward with--guys that can be a part of the forward Knicks. Im done with Bargs and Smith--and Ledo needs to get in playing shape to get his chance.

This is against NBA players
this is a perfect opportunity for many reasons.

well we're not releasing Jason Smith. Like it or not, he might be back next year too. Ledo just got some playing time. You really want to cut him after only 2 games? Also, Phil wants to take a look at Bargs to see what he can do next year, so we're not cutting him either.

Also, since we are getting blown out every game, our team is only facing summer league talent & scrubs every game. It's not like we're facing real NBA talent for the entire portion of games.

Anyone we could bring in this late in the season wouldn't be able to get enough playing time to be able to show us much anyway. I'd rather just stay with R.ledo and keep giving him, Early and Gallo all the time they want.
