He ate Blatche's contract

I really don't care about Wittman. I just want Ernie gone.

Wittman isn't a good coach, but you wouldn't notice his issues nearly as much if the roster was better. I'm not saying I don't want him gone, I absolutely do, but the thought of him being here next year doesn't annoy me that much if we get a new GM.

The FO viewed Blatche as a cancer. They don't view Wittman as one.

The locker room would have to be completely toxic for the Wizards to fire him.

I keep hearing "Fire Wittman - Eat the contract Ted" to the tune of Freda Payne's "Bring the Boys Home" with a heavier drumbeat

Wittman leaving the last loss early - while perhaps not in reality a big deal - could be used by Ted as an excuse (a final straw kind of thing) to fire him. It's all about perception.

Had the exact same thought. Terrible "optics," a favorite term of Ted-speak.

Another game. Another ... RANDY YOU SUCK AS A HC.

http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/12561 ... op-coaches

Hey Ted. If your HC is ranked 26th and you are making the playoffs two years in a row, just imagine your team with a average coach or even better... A GOOD COACH

EAT THE CONTRACT TED.

Wittman has actually been embarrassing the Wizards franchise quite a bit lately. He's taking heat from NBA writers and analysts on a regular basis, just follow twitter during any national Wiz game. The walking off the court thing made the ESPN news cycle (Sportscenter, First take, ATH etc) last week. He was bottom five in the ESPN coach rankings. Ted follows and sees all of this stuff, as we know.

Jalen Rose utterly undressed the Wiz org during the halftime show today, one of his criticisms being the lack of playing time for our #3 overall pick (and Porter then proved Rose right in the second half)

Leonsis has an ego and cares about his image, he doesn't like to be embarrassed. And Wittman is, quite frankly, embarrassing to Leonsis and everyone who is vested in the Wizards organization.

As the team has gotten more national attention, it's only exposed Randy further. He has no decorum as a head coach, looks/sounds like a doofus in interviews and on the sidelines, is generally horrible with the press etc. And most importantly is failing to get results on the court or to develop any of his players.

When I see Randy on the sidelines, I always think of Lurch

Kind of shows what a different coach/philosophy can do for your shot chart.

Honestly though the good news is that we're going to be playing Toronto and the playoff atmosphere there is crazy. If we get wrecked like I think we will then its going to be so much worse because of how we'll look at Air Canada center. It's going to be the sort of playoff exit that has Leonsis in tears.

If Ernie Grunfeld gets to fire another coach while he lives to take another scouting junket to Europe this summer, I am done with this team.

There's no way in hell we win at the ACC in the playoffs. I'm praying for blowouts while Ted sits in the Owner's box

As an art form it expresses the way in which the fragmentary nature of modern life estranges us from meaningful human experience in much the same way as the Wizard's offense poignantly conveys the disconnect between 21 foot jumpers and scoring lots of points, so I can totally see that.

edit: No, Rockets, don't fix Josh Smith's offense. I guess Frankenstein didn't include enough regression analysis to merit a read but in short: something something natural order something something tampered in God's domain.

Awesome example.

And look at the 3s. Even though there are more, notice even how they are closer to the 3 line. That tell me the offense is also getting him more open looks. He has time to get right on the 3 line.

And another example of fitting with in the construct of what motivates a player. Josh clearly wants to take those shots and be good at it. So they found a way to get him those looks. I'm sure he is happy and more motivated to get even better at it. And if he can't produce what they want from here there. They will trade him.

That chart is another reason not to throw-in the towel on Beal. Wiz coaching and player development have always been terrible.

It isn't mentioned too-much but bureaucrat Ed Tapscott, Prez of "Player Development" head should be in the basket right-there with Randy & Ernie's.
