At the same time, he also took a lot of open shots. Shots I don't really mind him taking. When Thad is back, his role'll be smaller. I actually really like what he brought to the table defensively and on the boards these last couple games. He's a surprisingly big dude and very mobile. The fact that he's a perimeter threat is just extra. I like Jefferson but I think he'll be better as the 3rd PF when we desperately need energy or someone is in foul trouble.

i dont think it was just the lakers... he was kind of in chuck mode vs the cavs as well. I also thought his D was kind of weak today. i dont mind him taking 3's but the long 2s need to go as well as him shooting with 19 or 20 seconds left on the shot clock.

i think he can be an ok reserve for 12-14 minutes, but he can also be a big liability if he isnt hitting his shots. not to say CJ would be any better, overall we still have an enormous issue at PF. even with thad back.

IDK I'll have to look more carefully next time. Against the Cavs, I saw him defend Love well a couple times. Switch out onto perimeter guys. Rebound well. Even today, Hill hit a couple contested jumpers over him - which is fine with me. Not saying he's an elite defender but I liked what I've seen so far.

He was kind of in chuck mode vs the Cavs but today he was FULL on chuck mode. So I'm hoping it was just that he had extra energy from playing his old team. I'm fine with him playing 15-20 minutes a game depending on matchups. I don't think we need TOO much out of our PFs if the entire team is ready to compete.

i think at 20 minutes a game he is going to hurt you. we need thad back, and even then i dont really want thad in more then 20-24 minutes. i think we can probably get away with it, but eventually its gonna hurt us. we get smashed on the boards because of it, even with lopez improvement. 3rd worst in the nba allowing second chance points.

i didnt think he defended well at all today. vs the cavs i didnt think he was bad. but the cavs dont go big. i just hope he can hit 3's, if he can then he wont be a negative

Had Brook been playing like this all year no one would have wanted to trade him

Markel was great. Love his confidence out there. Both ends of the floor. Hollins needs to give him a longer leash.

Markel needs to be more aggressive offensively imo. Attack the basket, use those ups and that wingspan for god's sake. He is a fine defender and has earned his starting spot, but he needs to hit the J like he was doing yesterday and attack the rim.

He's going to be a good player, no doubt about it. An absolute steal.

I'm reserving praise but its good to see them net a win streak finally. Got to beat Indy tomorrow.... another, "must win" in a streak of must win games....

Markel showing some offense is a huge surprise to me... the fact he was knocking down shots, idk if its more like finally he's knocking them or its a fluke.... i'm not sure about him as a shooter, scorer? yes, shooter? ehhhhh

Lopez, just keep doing what your doing, don't rush, take a dribble or two if no one is around... ATTACK the paint! that's all I ever wanted and you're doing it, he's getting it TBH.

Clark will come along, he had a good offensive outing for expectations but don't expect him to be a savior, we got him off FA, limit some expectations...

I think he's the sort of guy who looks better and gets more aggressive when we're doing good things on offense. When we're sharing the ball, cutting, and getting out in transition, it opens up spots for him to attack. He needs to attack defenders who are already off balance. Hopefully we keep doing that and Markel keeps getting more comfortable. I have a weird confidence that his jump shot will come around.

Markel is starting to remind me of Avery Bradley.

It looked pretty damn good yesterday. If he can hit that shot at a solid clip...woot!
